Rayner's First 2014 Long Range Match

Hopefully there will be something to note whether shooters shot on Sat. or Sun. in the future posting of scores. I talked to Carolyn today and she is working on it. I wouldn't expect any past matches to be sorted, but may be able to do so on the future ones.

Gunsmithing Stress on a Savage receiver

I use a heavy form 1 can on a7mmRM with a 30" bull barrel and have noticed no issues. I don't have factory screws either.

    BenY CZ Bolt Handles

I prefer to make the knob right on the handle for the cleanest look. I thread the handle and then screw the blank onto it. Then cut the taper and make the knob to whatever style is desired. When you polish the shoulder with emery cloth it makes for a nearly seamless fit when finished. Here are a...

    BenY CZ Bolt Handles

Looking good. I like to put a slight angle on them as well like in the 3rd picture of post #5. That way the knob doesn't stick out from the stock so far or hit the scope.

Rayner's First 2014 Long Range Match

Range is currently snow covered, but not deep and easy enough to get around with an appropriate vehicle. Forgot my camera. Tom's got some of the targets hung a bit differently and also made a few "sucker plates" for some of the positions, or bonus point plates ...... however you view them. Not...

    300 blk subsonic supressed build.

Skip the adjustable gas block. I have a 16" carbine gas that runs subs as long as you load them with A1680, but my 9.5" pistol gas runs with everything. I would stick to a pistol gas system.

Rayner's First 2014 Long Range Match

You might want to bring a tall bipod in case I forget  I'm guessing Tom or Josey will have the area cleared to accommodate everyone.

Rayner's First 2014 Long Range Match

Looking forward to it. There is a USPSA pistol match there on the 16th, so I'll be there that weekend as we'll if the weather doesn't suck too badly.

Who does Bolt Knobs for CZ's?!!!

Yes, they are hard, but not impossible. Win mod 70 knobs seem to be even harder than the CZ's and every now and then you find a really hard Savage knob. Try carbide cutters. The only problem I ran into is the casting voids that are inside the material.

    Harris bipod spike feet

That's what these forums are about. That's also why a shooter needs several bipods depending on the range and conditions. There are times where I wish the Harris was 4" on the low end, but that's where the Atlas bipod would work. The pod claws are really cool, but add too much elevation for...

I run 80 grainers in a 22-250AI with H4831sc with very good results.

    Harris bipod spike feet

I guess you could, but I personally will thread my legs and screw them on as it looks clean and probably use blue Loctite. No need to remove them for using rubber feet as the straight side is a nice fit for the factory rubbers to slip on to.

Who does Bolt Knobs for CZ's?!!!

Here's my latest one. I had a handle off the bolt, so made a piece that allowed me to bolt it into the Rem 700 style jig. This handle was sent with a PT&G knob to install, so the end is really small, which doesn't leave much room for a shoulder. To get the angle right I had to leave a little of...

    Harris bipod spike feet

I sold a couple via PM, but once I get a couple of extra sets made I'll post them in the classifieds. I have some stainless roll pins ordered, so will make some that epoxy on and attach with roll pins.

Who does Bolt Knobs for CZ's?!!!

Looks good, el gordo2. I left a .400 shoulder on the one I did for the knob to butt up against. The funny angles on that handle are somewhat of a guessing game. My lathe jig is similar to one used for a Rem 700.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Glock 42, some will love me...

Not a big fan of a large .380, but I'm probably going to have to own one of these.

What did you use to paint your rifle?

Thanks. That's woodland tan and the green is OD green. Webbing is just black.
