Which drag bag do you use?

I've got the Galati gear bag / mat. Its great, its held up through lots of abuse. The foam padding is really good, I'm a big guy and even shooting on rocks I'm relatively comfortable. Not a cheap one, but well worth what it does cost.

New build completed. I’m in love.

I am, I went back and forth between a few different rounds. Glad I finally decided on the SAUM. Lots of people were talking it down in a short action but I have found that the added barrel length makes it preform very well. Its just stupid accurate.

Yep. At 100 they are all small ragged holes. Best group so far was 0.17' @ 100. Most are right around .25 when I do my part. Today I was getting frustrated because I kept pulling one in each group off. A few of the groups would have been close to 0.45" @ 300 but I would pull one out of the rest...

    7 saum

Accurate Mag WSM magazine. It says 2.95” oal, but it can feed up to about 2.965” is what I was able to feed. Luckily my rifle like the .02 jump so I @ 2.955” I’ve had no problems feeding.

Finally have my load dialed in. Virgin Norma Brass. 180 ELD match. 61.6 grains of H1000. Wlr non magnum primers. 2.955 oal. 0.02 off the lands for my rifle. 28” Bartlein 8 twist tube. On a trued Rem 700 Shooting .25moa. 2949 5 shot average with SD of 6.7 shooting through SiCo Omega can. Mag...

Suppressors Silencerco Hybrid and 300 Norma Magnum

They reply fast but don’t give the best answers. They said I could not run a 7 SAUM but could run a 7 WSM. The WSM is higher pressure, uncorking pressure, and pill speed, after relaying this info they said. We can’t tell you that you can shoot anything with the word ultra mag through it. So idk...

Suppressors How long is too long?

The struggle is real. 28” with an Omega. I wouldn’t say it’s a huge difference than when it’s on my 24” honestly.

    Pick my .308 bullet

I was loading 180 SST’s as a clone load to my 178 HPBT’s. Shot great out to 650 yards. 1 elk, a ton of pigs, several white tail, mule deer, Axis, Fallow, and several Audad. None made it too far.

My gut feeling is that the H1000 will be faster and a little easier on the barrel. I shot some more today, I broke the barrier I was hoping to break speed wise so I think I’ll be sticking with the H1000. I got 2945 with SD of 6.

    300 RSAUM vs 300 WSM

the reason I went 7mm over 30 is higher BC at lower weight. I built it around the Hornady 180eld-match. Basically less recoil and better long range ballistics. My build is a rem 700 action, Bartlein #9 contour barrel finished at 28”. Action and bolt worked over, and barrel cut, crowned, and...

    300 RSAUM vs 300 WSM

I spoke to a few people shooting both while planning my build. I went with RSAUM and I couldn’t be more pleased. I’m 7mm not 300, but close enough. I’m 30 shots down the tube and shooting sub .25 MOA.

Not looking for more accuracy really. But more speed maintaining same accuracy. If it tightens up so be it. But I plan on shooting out to 2k and I’ll need more FPS.

Not finished with the load yet, I was really just working in barrel break in so I didn’t have a chrono with me, I’ll post up next weekend after some real load testing and shooting over the chrono. Looking for 2900-2950.

I’ve got H1000 and 4831sc. Using the H1000 first. Once I have a good load worked up I’ll play with the 4831 and see if it has any benifit.

New build completed. I’m in love.

Kinda, I’ve been piecing it together for about 4 years. I had a Remington 700 AAC-SD 308 that I put the trigger, chassis and all of that on. So yeah, I spent a decent amount but I’ve been deal shopping for years so not too much at one time and some good deals. It helped doing it that way, lots...

Here’s the rundown. 7 SAUM, built on a rem 700 short mag action. Action and bolt worked and Bartlein #9 contour barrel, 8 twist finished at 28”. (Barreled action done by Alamo Precision Rifles) its sitting in a XLR Element chassis. Trigger tech special trigger. Seekins Precision base and...

    New build almost complete

I’ll post up some pics as assemble goes. But here the overall. A closeup of the bolt knob, and the threading on the barrel. I was pretty surprised at how heavy the barrel was finished at 28”. That’s 5/8 x 24 thread. Looks like 1/2”

    New build almost complete

Alamo Precision is finishing up a barreled action for me, called to tell me it would be finished up next week. I had a 16.5” 308 in a XLR element chassis, Jewel trigger, Harris bipod, weaver base and rings, PA scope, KRG boltblift, SiCo omega. It was a heck of a shooter for a cheap intro...
