So, reloading… 6.5 Creedmoor, finally got the Garmin Chrono. I had settled on 44.4g of Staball behind a 140gr SMK BTHP on Federal Primer. Finally got a chrono on it today. 2900FPS. 150FPS faster than the factory Norma or Hornady. No pressure signs. SD of 7, ES of 14. That’s some oomph out...

    Volquartsen Summit

Built a fast twist suppressed subsonic off the action. Can’t remember the barrel-smith, but was an aluminum sleeved barrel. Threw a can on the front. Not quite MOA with the Aguilla 60gr SSS rounds, but close. Absolutely the kids favorite rifle. Toggle bolt, no recoil, quieter than a red Ryder...

Quick Q: who was the guy selling carbon fiber handguards? I can’t find the post now, but saw them in the sale section a few days back.

    They’re great platforms. Nice deer!

Echo all the comments. Factory are quite good. So are Proof Carbon. Frankly, they’re all shooters.

No desert tech in the photo, but used mine from my stand for a nice fat doe at 275yds off hand. Other buddies and me all dropped one in about a 5 minute window few nights back over some nice fields.

Bump for Rob. He's awesome. All my DT's have come from him. All my future ones will to. And I concur with the paint. Granted, I tape mine with whatever camo coban fits the season. Or rattle can it if I'm feeling spicy. No safe queens.

What’s the groups current feeling to HTI chassis. I have no need of one, asking for another. My largest concern is that for anything aside from 50bmg, finding ammunition or components is challenging at best. Seeing chassis wear issues? Or lobbing 50bmg with aplomb?

I’m just tinkering. Got a 338LM, 2 6.5 creed, and a .223, 2 chassis. I effectively have a 250yd range locally. It’s all just silly, but… what could I have custom chambered for maximum velocity from an available off the shelf ammunition that would feed from a magazine in one of these…

Random though: anyone ever play with a 220 swift conversion? Just… pondering this afternoon.

Loosely. I did a bunch of British car shows in Cincinnati and Cleveland with it. Honestly it was fun with a stock engine, but I was a kid comparatively. The V8 swap I did in College and car was my daily driver for a few years of med school. I had fun.

Yep; Buick Olds Pontiac Rover; I saw one bored out to ~5L. My stock 215CI was enough.

Free bump. I love mine. Makes tripod shots very doable. Makes a comfy hide for glassing.

I did a V8 swap on a 76B about 20 years back with my dad. The 76-80’s had the MGB-GT option, and the motor mounts were the same. Now, I’m not much of a car guy, but enough that we were able to plug in a 62’ Skylark 215 V8 and bolt that up to a T5 transmission if memory serves. Probably took...

I do. Fallen out of tree stand (climber). Haul line is an 8mm, double the length I need to pull up gun +10ft. Daisy chain around tree, figure 8 belay device, standard rappel down while musing i’d be dead I I wasn’t harnessed. Always brought enough for a hasty rappel… now I don’t use climbers.

143gr ELDX create 1 ragged hole groups from my 6.5CM from PRDriver; one is a 6.5 Factor, one is a 6.5 Proof Research. Both are, as I describe to friends, boringly accurate. Castrate a Gnat accurate.

I'm in New York these days. I left all my cans in Ohio (secure if the ATF is reading). I'd love to throw a can on the front of this. I'll have to appropriate it from my collection in the family trust when I'm back. But even spicy, it's a shooter.
