    The Gen 1 has the knurling. Gen 2 went to the scalloped. Gen 3 scope tubes have the option for the LSW. Other than that the Gen 2 and 3 are the same. This is a gen 1.

    I don't believe the M77 uses a barrel nut. The M77 is pretty much a copy of a Mauser action and the barrel screws directly to the action. I am in no way a gunsmith, but if they use the same barrels you may be good to go.
