Gunsmithing Front sight for a LAR grizzly

Looks like a strange double tennon sight. Look up large and small tennon 1911 sights they do take some fiddling and tools to install correctly.

If you have a local jewler they may be able to cast a replacement using your printed version as a reference. I dont know what it would cost , may be worth a look.

Meateater has gone full Commie (maybe)

Bottom line is most hunters, yes most , are not "gun people". They look at it the same way as a lawn mower. Looks like the lawn needs to be mowed get the lawn tractor. here comes hunting season... get the rifle.

    Small bore cannons

Its all about scale. just like Sirhr eluded to. A couple people around me have golf ball cannons. Low pressure cheap to shoot. Much more like a salute cannon rather than a "real one pounder" Do not trust just anybody with cannon info. Find someone that actually knows what is going on. Too many...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns 10mm 1911 recommendations

I had a trp Springfield longslide 10mm. 1300 rounds the slide was very loose. I sent it back and they "polished the feed ramp" like magic the slide wasn't rattley any more. Sold the damn thing and have not looked back. Buy an sti and be happy.

    Precision 50 Beowulf (12.7x42)?

You can't use bmg projectiles unless you size them down .010, quite an operation. Beowulf uses .500 bullets like a 500 smith and wesson. 50 bmg uses .510 diameter bullets. Take a look at 510 wsm or 500 whisper those have been done on precision rifles. I have a 510wsm still working on accuracy...

Gunsmithing Barrel - Cut for a different action and rechamber?

    PSA PA10 (308) Experiment

Its all a balancing act. Adjustable gas block can help reduce bottoming out of the buffer and felt recoil. A heavier buffer can help from the other end. No free lunch with recoil. Jist making it feel different and more plesant.

Gunsmithing Barrel - Cut for a different action and rechamber?

This is true to a point. Careful boring/drilling can reduce issues. I say can reduce issues because sometimes there is nothing to do but cut off the chamber/throat and start over if there is enough barrel.

Gunsmithing Barrel - Cut for a different action and rechamber?

Its not that its a bad idea , I dont think so anyway. I think a decision needs to be weighed against all factors. An f class competitor knows the history and origin of the barrel. Much easier to make that decision especially when the barrel shoots well

Gunsmithing Barrel - Cut for a different action and rechamber?

Personally I have done exactly what you are asking about. Taken a used but not abused barrel and rethreaded and chambered for a different setup. Worked well for me. I went from a 260 rem that was not performing well to a 6.5x55 that did very well. Seemed the extra speed is just what that barrel...
