    6mm past 1000yds.

Running the 105 Berger hybrid at 3050 using 39.1 gr. of N550 out of a 24" 6X47L they go subsonic around 1400, the VLD 105 transitions to subsonic very well for me, out of a 6 Dasher they are going 2970 and go sub around 1250, I consistantly get hits to 1400 with them. Enjoy

Rifle Scopes NF combo vs USO combo

Never thought I'd be forced to recommend NF over USO but as things now stand that is what I'd do. I've got several USO scopes and still love them, they are all ergo SN-3 1.8-10X44 or 3.2-17X44 with one SN4 1.5-6. Only thing I'd suggest you consider is, do you really need that much power on...

Question on barricade position target distances

Have encountered 10" plates @ 600, also those small poppers with a 5" wide spot @ 300. Pretty tough off an unsteady rest, or unusual position. Most of the barricades are flimsy as well, so they wobble all over the place.

    Laser RF for Prairie Rats?

I used a Swaro for years and could get mounds out to 1000 yd. easy.

Rifle Scopes Steiner 5-25 x 56 windage reset

Had mine a couple of weeks and used it this past Sat. in it's first match. Found that I liked it turned down to around 15 to 20 power for most of the shots in the 300 to 500 yd. area. Despite most saying the eyebox is big at 25 power I'm not finding that to be the case. Granted I'm still getting...

What size steel are you shooting out past 1k?

Made a 40" wide x 29" tall backer target with an 8" round hanging about 6" in front of the backer. Painted the backer white and the 8" plate is bright orange. Use this at 1760 yd., the 8" plate is clearly visible in decent conditions using a 15 power scope. Hitting that 8" plate at a mile makes...

    CZ 452 scope rings question.

Stubb, I've never had a problem with the CZ rings, that being said I did change out the base with a 20 moa rail and use Seekins rings for my CZ 452. I shoot this rifle almost daily so didn't mind the added expense. Very solid unit that always stays zeroed.

Suppressors denials using a quicken trust

Yes I did see the letter, and the quote is accurate as best I can recall, I'm sure my dealer kept it so I'll get a copy and site from it directly. It will be next week before I can get it. I agree that the language is vague and I thought at the time, what the hell does that mean? ATF did tell my...

    Disappointed with "expensive" spotting scopes

Atmospheric conditions can really affect the quality of the image through any scope. The first decent scope I got I was so diappointed in because I got it middle of the afternoon in July in Kansas, looked like the 800 yd. target had grown legs and was walking around. The next morning was a...

Suppressors denials using a quicken trust

Ordered suppressor Dec. of 2011, suppressor came in and form 4 sent off July 2012, 1st. problem letter feb. 2013, 2nd. problem letter 3 weeks later, 3rd. letter 2 weeks later, then the stamp in march of 2013.

Suppressors denials using a quicken trust

This is first hand experience, me. The third suppressor going on my quicken trust was delayed because "the trust is weak", no more elaboration was givin. I had a trust drawn up by a lawyer that cost me $250 and that made BATFE happy. There was no indication they even considered doing anything...

    F T/R Competition 600 yard F/TR with .223

If you can find some 70gr. Berger VLD bullets (G7 BC = .190) they work well in a 1 in 9 twist. They are close to the same BC as the 77 gr. Berger BT. (G7 BC = 192) You can push them just as fast as your Hornaday 68 gr. load (G7 BC = 169).

Rifle Scopes NF ATACR vs Razor

A friend of mine that is a Vortex dealer asked me to compare the Razor to my NXS 3.5-15X50 and USO 3.2-17X44. I did so one evening and played with them until to dark to see. Set them all on 15 power so has to make it as equal as possible. The Razor glass was hands down winner, clearer, color was...

    Bipod height?

I like the 9"-13" but I shoot mostly prone, this size is a little tall for bench work. Also depends on your build, bigger guys need a taller bi-pod just to get behind the rifle. Nothing wrong with having both.

Ever go to a "friends of the nra" banquet?

Our local Friends of the NRA banquet funds the Youth hunter challenge and the women on target events that are held every year. Usually have around 500 attend from a county with only 35,000 total pop. As stated a very good cause worth the time and effort to attend.

    Vectronix Terrrapin maximum range?

I've seen differences in results from winter to summer, cold and hot, and dusty conditions. There is a water tower 3550 yds. from my house which I can consistantly range in fall, winter, and spring, in the heat of summer it's a no go. 3780 yd. is the max I've gotten, but I haven't spent a lot...

Tell me about he 6mmAR round.

Re: Tell me about he 6mmAR round. Having shot the 6 RAT for several years at DMR type matches and using it some for yote hunting I'm impressed with the round. The 6 RAT may be the best option for those wishing to build their own upper. That is why I chose it over some of the other "turn key...
