Re: Load work-up 8208 XBR and L155 Scenar by OCW
Schwim,
What brass are you using and primer.
I've been shooting a 155 scenar with 8208 since it became available. LC match brass, fed. match primer, 42.2 gr. netting 2920 fps. out of a 24" Krieger. Single digit sd's and 1/2 moa.
Also use it...
Re: Upgraded Extractor
I've had the Sako extractor mod done on a 6 Dasher looking for better extraction / ejection. The first Sako extractor had some issues with the lip that grabs the rim and I had to replace it. After fitting the new one and adjusting the ejector length I'm happy with the...
Re: What trigger to put in Dpms 308
I'd also recommend the JP. If you follow the instructions you end up with a very nice single stage trigger in the 3 lb range. It's in my DPMS 308 along with a few AR's.

Re: Subsonic Training Ammo for CZ-452
Remington subsonics are what I shoot in my 452. Not real expensive, very accurate, hollow points do a good job on small varmints.
Re: school me on the .243
Have been shooting a 6 Dasher for a year or so and really like the performance and efficiency of the round. Pushing 105 Amax at 3010 with 33 gr. of IMR 8208, 105 Berger at 2970 with same charge. Haven't tried the Dtacs yet but on the list. It has around 1100 rounds...
Re: .243 1/7 or 1/8tw for the heavies??
Have used a 7.5 twist in a 6 mm RAT (AR 15 platform, 6.5 Grendel necked down) and 7.8 twist for a 6mm Dasher. Both shoot from 87 gr V-max to 108 Berger very well. Haven't tried the 115 yet but plan to. Rat is a White Oak and Dasher is a Krieger.
Re: Trouble justifying USO
Looking in the SH optics for sale is good advice! You will save with which ever scope you choose. On a .338 a ffp scope is almost irrelevant, at the ranges they are typically used the scope will be dialed all the way up anyway. That being said I've got a 3.2-17X44...
Re: Tiger Valley Team Sniper Date?
After a good nights sleep I still have sore body parts. I'd like to thank TJ, Benjamin, and the rest of the staff for the very well run match. This was smooth, so smooth I barely had time to stay prepped for the next stage. Tactical shooters can be like...
Re: Larue or Nightforce Uni-mount?
I have both and like both. Another consideration is NF has the 20 moa cant built in, last I knew La Rue has a 10 moa available. Some scopes (USO SN-3) won't fit in the 1.250 NF has the rings aren't tall enough to clear the turret housing.
Re: 90g berger vld's in a 22-250
There is a Rem. 700 varmint special 22-250 in the safe that is due for this conversion. I've seen them shoot and it is a heck of a combo. Even a .223 will push them 2650 which works well out to 1000.

Re: Real world dope - issue
2 ft. high at 640 yd. is a lot of deviation. Part of the problem may be with the bullet, poor choice for that distance. RSI comes up with 4.9 mils elevation @ 650 and velocity in the 1350 area.
How many shots did you take at this range and what kind of groups...
Re: CZ 75 or 92FS
CZ is my choice. You can also get a Kadet 22 lr slide and practice with it. Great trainer, the compact is a good carry pistol. Can carry cocked and locked, or hammer at 1/2 cock and double action first shot. SP 01 is kinda heavy for a carry pistol, but can be customized to...
Re: 223 powders
H335, 2520, BL-C2, N-133, Benchmark, RL-15, 8208, and many more. These all meter well through a 550 and will work for up to 69 gr. Have used BL-C2, RL-15 and 2520 for 77 gr.
Re: Rem 700 in 223 hold moa at 800?
A guy that shoots the monthly 600 yd. f-class match uses a .223 with 90 gr. Bergers, also uses the same rifle for 1000 yd. Last weekend he shot a 197, 12 X on one relay. Rifle has a 30" heavy barrel and was set up to shoot this type of match.
My point...

Re: Ultimate 4x4 Range Vehicle Under $10k
As suggested a well maintained Suburban, or Expedition would work well for match trips. About 4 guys is max for continued good cheer. Have been on several 3 gun match trips in a Suburban and it works well.
