    Factory 18" threaded barrel .308?

I just bought a Ruger Gunsite. It's NOT a scout rifle I have decided after owning it. It is definitely more of a "practical rifle" or "general purpose" rifle. The front mounted rail comes off, and you can mount standard rings on the machined adapters on the receiver, or get an XS full length...

Anyone a fan of scout rifles?

I disagree. I think it should have just been marketed as a "general purpose rifle". It IS lighter than most, it IS shorter than most, it IS built as an all around capable rig. But scout rifle, I have decided it is not. Still love it though. In fact, it absolutely answers a question for me! I...

Anyone a fan of scout rifles?

Yeah I've decided on those actually. Seem to be the best all around for price and simplicity. I've used Warne's on most of my rigs. So what I've decided (and some will not approve), is to take the rifle's capability a bit further and mount a low power 1-4x30mm Leupold Patrol rifle scope on it by...

Anyone a fan of scout rifles?

Well I picked it up. I played with it at the store for a while and absolutely loved it. I'm happy I have a multipurpose rifle to throw in packs, take hiking, put in the truck, and carry around easily. Now just the optics and base. I'm going with the Burris 2.75x scout. Not sure on the base yet...

Anyone a fan of scout rifles?

Very nice. That's really nice looking. I do love the simplicity of Boyd's stocks, and it fits that scout nicely.

Anyone a fan of scout rifles?

Well I never have either until now. Maybe not the concept, but it seems to fit in somewhere where I don't have a rifle for the purpose... Not really sure, but I just see myself using it quite a bit...

Anyone a fan of scout rifles?

Very nice! I'm reading great things about them. The store had ONE left for $739. I REALLY don't have the money for it, but I'm REALLY thinking of going back tomorrow!!!

Anyone a fan of scout rifles?

Awesome thanks for the info. I've been researching them a bit, and the only other thing I can think of that would one up a bolt scout gun, would be the SOCOM or similar... BUT, a hell of a lot more money... And for the reason I'd want it, I don't think a semi auto would be necessary. I just like...

Anyone a fan of scout rifles?

I went to fail on finding ammo like usual, and happened to see the Ruger scout rifle in .308. VERY NICE. I've never really fully understood it's place in the rifle/carbine world, but I really liked it! I have my lever guns, and I have my bolt guns, but I was thinking that a scout with a foldable...

    The Sons of Liberty

The biggest problem I have seen is ALL OF US. I WISH that we would all rally up enough to make headlines. I WISH we would all hold these people accountable. WE DO NOT. The majority of us sit around complaining about it and slowly watch our own damn states take away our rights and decide moving...

22 Vets a day committed suicide in 2012!

Even harder when so many claim it and the system has to weed through real cases vs. "might not have it" or "straight up lying"... It makes it that much harder for those that truly do suffer from it to be taken seriously and get the help in the first place. Like the example before, the higher-ups...

22 Vets a day committed suicide in 2012!

Couldn't think of anything intelligent to add to the conversation or just didn't even read the thread? Fobbits and supposed "combat vet" non-combat MOS's that claim severe PTSD must all be true... They all add to the statistic. I guess it makes me a "douchenozzle" to second guess someones claim...

22 Vets a day committed suicide in 2012!

That's another thing. These are the type of situations that actually do create more of a problem with people suffering from it to begin with. "Proud" higher-ups that let these war-hero's rot away and then get out without ever having a chance. That is real shitty. Again though, not actually...

22 Vets a day committed suicide in 2012!

You have to remember that so much of this is staying in the spotlight now and is accepted as something that is prevalent among service members. On the same note, this is also the same thing that CREATES another problem. I believe a lot of the people that succumb to PTSD were in a way led into...

Advice needed - received harassing phone call

Sounds like you're taking it too personally and letting it get to you which is probably the intent. If it becomes a frequent thing, then yeah, pursue it. Otherwise, you've got to know by now that people do this type of shit randomly for "fun". Your first mistake was giving him fuel by continuing...

There's a whole chat room now! Much better I think... Holy shit, everyone calm down lol. There was a change like 8-9 months ago if I remember right and everyone was freaking out as well. You'll get used to it, and like it I'm sure. It was an update to the software that controls the forum and...

    Arachnophobes, ignore this thread

Re: Arachnophobes, ignore this thread I'd probably bring out my inner child and sit on a lawn chair with my BB gun and have some fun splattering targets to shoot at to be honest.
