    Beam vs. Digital scales

That might depend on your environment. If where you are in SC is anywhere near as hot and humid as Houston, I would think it would be a problem for anything electronic. I keep my GD503 inside where it is air-conditioned 24/7/365. Just kidding, we get 2 weeks of decent weather each year.

%%Primer Detonation with Impact Bullet Puller!%%

The Davidson looks like it is worth a try. I went to order one, but apparently Sinclair's site is experiencing problems. I even logged-in and the cart wouldn't register my order. I'll try from my work computer tomorrow.

%%Primer Detonation with Impact Bullet Puller!%%

I was wondering the same exact thing. Just because the shell holder does not cause a primer detonation does not necessarily mean it is any safer, I have used the original 3 piece holder that came with the inertia puller for at least 50 rounds prior to having it go bang.

%%Primer Detonation with Impact Bullet Puller!%%

That makes me feel better. Mine was only 5.56, and it did not ignite the main charge. If your .264 Win Mag was contained by the puller, I guess it would easily handle a 77gn SMK if the main charge had ignited.

%%Primer Detonation with Impact Bullet Puller!%%

It was a Fed 205M. I have probably pulled 50 or so of these the same way in the past 2 years without a detonation, but once is too many for me.

%%Primer Detonation with Impact Bullet Puller!%%

For safety, I weight all completed rounds. Surprisingly, there is little variation since I sort my brass in .1gn lots and weight my charges with an SD503. When one of them looked suspicious (.7gn high, turns out the case dropped down from the bin above) I went to pull it apart. I placed the...

How do you guys deprime pre tumble?

I have a toolhead setup for my 550B with a universal depriming die in the first spot, and my Dillon RT1200 in the third spot. I initially got 1000 LC11 virgin cases and process my cases when I have gone through the lot. I tumble in Stainless media and I just got my Giraud annealing machine, so...

    Lowering ES whats the secret?

And they just left you with that? wow, I'm disappointed in them. Considering the prevalence of cell towers, I would think they might have some helpful advice for you, or at least leave you with, "We're working on a solution right now."

    whidden bullet pointing kit

Wow, I didn't know that. I can attest that the Hoover dies are steel.

    whidden bullet pointing kit

I cannot compare them since I only own one of them, the Hoover; however, I will lay out my reasoning for going with the Hoover, and look forward to others comparing the two. I agonized over my decision, as I own 5 Whidden 550 floating toolheads for my Dillon 550B and absolutely love them, but...

    anneling question

Thanks Layton. I ran a test run with 5 or 6 cases. You were right about needing the Tempilaq, it turns out that I was not able to follow Doug's directions exactly. The torch is supposed to be adjusted so that the central cone is 1/2 inch long. Before I could reduce it below 1 inch, it went...

    Lowering ES whats the secret?

That's interesting. It must be a frequency thing, because my range is literally in the shadow of a 1000' TV tower and it causes no adverse effects. I would think that it is operating at a much higher power level and is probably frying us instead of just our chronographs, lol. I guess it is...

    Lowering ES whats the secret?

timelinex, You're pulling my leg, right? Exactly how much does a 2800fps bullet slow down in 10 feet?

    Lowering ES whats the secret?

That's easy. There is little doubt that the Oehler is accurate, it's just a PITA to set up, carry, store, etc. The Magnetospeed is a compromise for convenience. It would be a very big plus for the Magnetospeed if it could be shown to be both convenient AND accurate.

    Lowering ES whats the secret?

There would probably be a large following for our results. We might have to do that some time.

    Lowering ES whats the secret?

I believe it is due to rounding errors etc. Think about an extreme case, if you were able to place the detectors 100yd apart, do you think (other than the bullet slowing down) that you could get a more accurate measurement? In any event, I am mostly relying on the OEM's numbers: Sorry about the...

Gee thanks, I appreciate that. I'll be there, that will be my first experience shooting at 600yd.

    Lowering ES whats the secret?

Greg, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there's been a price increase. "The complete system price is $575 with $20 shipping for domestic UPS ground." Then people like me that live in TX have to add $47 sales tax. Thank you for the compliment. I also enjoy your posts.

    Lowering ES whats the secret?

You are correct about the 35P being long-in-the-tooth. You could even say that it is Chronologically Gifted. It has been around at least since the 70s and that shows up in places like the printer which one person described as looking like it came out of a government warehouse of Korean War...

Concentricity Guages??? Worth it, especially for semi-auto?? If so, what brand?

Yeah, I didn't care for the Neco either. Good shooting by the way. I'm still learning, so for now I will stick with what the benchrest guys are doing. I may not be that good a shot so far, but at least I won't be able to blame it on my equipment. My best at 200yd F-TR is not as good as your...
