Does anyone else warm their induction annealer up with scrap cases? I run a dozen scrap cases through before I anneal the good stuff. This brings the system up to temp as the annealing cycle time is effected. Fluxeon recommends this.
I also use a Fluxeon Annie, on 6.5 CM cycle time is 1.8 hornady, 2.0 nosler, 2.4 Lapua. I built a trapdoor setup that controls the position of the brass in the coil. When cycle is complete I open the trapdoor and the brass drops into a container. Might add that I am using the water cooled coil.
Deprime with Redding decapping die, comes equipped with small dia pin. Previously used hornady decapping die on hornady brass but they don't have a small dia pin. For sizing I'm using a Redding fl bushing die with Redding competition she'll holder to bump shoulder .002. Bullet seating with a LE...
i have approx 700 rounds through my AAC 762-SDN-6, mostly 6.5 Creedmoor. Looking into the can from the back end I noticed a buildup on the first baffle. Should I be concerned? Do I need to clean this if so how. I always heard only rimfire cans need to be cleaned.
For 6.5 Creedmoor I use Redding S type bushing die. Bushing matched to brass neck thickness for neck tension. Bullet seating is done with L.E. Wilson seating die on arbor press. With ref. to neck tension I additionally anneal brass on each loading.
I am shooting bullets with no verified BC. 136gr EPS BTHP in 6.5 Creedmoor. They are very consistent weight and base to ojive length. I used the muzzle velocity 2805 and 100yd velocity 2640 f ok my Labradar to calculate a G7 on JBM sight and got .271. I'll be curious to see how this works out...
I'll second the little crow trimmer "WFT". I started accumulating them before they introduced the switchable chamber model so I have ( 308, 223,300BO, 6.5 Creedmoor). I had a bench top drill press that I use the trimmers in.there are several good videos on YouTube.
i currently wet tumble, dry in dehydrator, anneal, spray lube, resize, if small batch I spray with alcohol and wipe to remove lube. What is your preferred method to remove lube from say 100 pieces.
It must be engaging to some extent as the case is pulled from the chamber but falling loose from the bolt before the case mouth clears the ejection oort
i have a issue with fired brass not being ejected from the gun. Upon cycling the bolt (m700) the brass is pulled from the chamber but is left laying loose on top of the next round in the mag. No issue with hornady brass.
