    If you google carbon and lead ring and rim fire....... You will get all the technical explanations and pics you could ever want. It is a phenomina seen in 22lr because of the exposed lead bullets......

    Have you checked for leading in barrel and tried to clean it out? I personally have never hear of an eroded throat on a 22lr........(unless abusive cleaning has taken place) I had a cmp 40x that was not performing up to snuff.....I thought maybe somebody had messed up the barrel or something...

    I use cb longs (same as shorts but feed better for me) for my backyard pest control. at 50 yards they stack up to easily be minute of squirrel and don't even sound like a rifle.....sound more like a fork or something hitting patio pavement......

    the way i would figure it........ if starting from stock, I would change trigger group first. Generally speaking you are going to have to change the stock and barrel at the same time. I would change trigger and then save up for the stock and barrel and then get your self a kidd bolt...
