Alpha or Lapua SRP Brass-6.5 Creedmoor

Given that your original concern was which brass between Lapua and Alpha would help you achieve the velocity you were going for and you now have some info showing you most likely wouldn't have any issues, I would.

Alpha or Lapua SRP Brass-6.5 Creedmoor

Even better. That was exactly what I was looking at but I accidently read it wrong as 26". I would say you are good to go. Grab some Lapua now that you have some data that leads you to believe you wont have any issues hitting your stated goal with that brass specifically. Let us know how it...

Alpha or Lapua SRP Brass-6.5 Creedmoor

Again, I have no experience in loading for 6.5 CM as it was never a cartridge that I picked up. So take everything I say with a grain of salt. A quick search on Bergers website shows the 153.5gr factory ammo out of a 26" barrel moving at 2702 out of the muzzle. Berger loads their factory stuff...

Alpha or Lapua SRP Brass-6.5 Creedmoor

What velocity are you shooting for? You aren't going to see drastic difference between the two. Sure brass thickness and case capacity will be very slightly different due to them being 2 different brands but they will be close enough to each other to the point that you are down to splitting...

Long Rifles Inc communication "must read"

Well... I was on the fence about going the LRI route for an action I already have lying around for one of my upcoming projects. Not anymore. While this is an old thread, the consistency of positive experiences that have been shared has been awesome to read about. With the exception of 1...

Alpha or Lapua SRP Brass-6.5 Creedmoor

I cant help with the 147-156 in 6.5 because I have never owned a 6.5 oddly enough. I can chime in on the brass quality though. You wont go wrong either way. They are both high quality. My personal opinion is that one is not any better than the other.

Brass Priming Service? - Large Rifle Magnum Primers

After re-reading your original post, I noticed that you specifically addressed the fact that these primers were for manufacturing... I'm not sure how I missed that the first time around. That presents an interesting opportunity to help move your slower moving brass as you mentioned. I had not...

Brass Priming Service? - Large Rifle Magnum Primers

While I can see this being a successful endeavor, I am curious... With the market the way it is, wouldn't it be more cost effective to sell the primers and brass separately? The primers would fly off your shelves in a matter of minutes and quality brass has a steady demand. Combing the two would...

    Electronic powder dispenser recommendation...

Agreed on this being a good thread to read through. It helped me decide on waiting for the IP. The general consensus seems to be that this will be an absolute killer piece of equipment. All the reading I have done reinforces that idea. That being said, it doesn't look like you can go wrong with...

    Hornady 106gr A-tip factory seconds

Honestly, I am just enjoying the banter before heading back to work this morning... Been on vacation and its my first day back so I am not overly enthusiastic to work 12 hours today. I would prefer to be at my bench or at the range. So I figured I would start the day with some humor. Thank you...

Lapua small vs large primer pockets

Yeah I have noticed a huge difference from my last bulk purchasing spree to now. I couldn't find anything last time I was looking. Now I am having no problem finding the #450's but anything LRP seems to be a really tall ask.

    Hornady 106gr A-tip factory seconds

So to be clear... All dickheads should be discouraged from buying these so that only the pre approved dickheads should know what they are called and where to get them? Interesting name choice for such an elite club. Haha!

What did you do in the reloading room today?

Launched a few down range today for load development. Came home, filled out the journal, de primed and set everything up to continue tomorrow. Nothing too eventful.

100% business as usual for me. I don't compete yet so once I learn what works with one load, I move on to the next experiment haha!

Lapua small vs large primer pockets

I have seen SRP's mentioned on more than one occasion so it appears that it may have been out there at some point but a quick search on Bergers site shows all their 6.5 as LRP
