I'd be interested in seeing the results of a head-to-head comparison of all the various ballistic software out there in terms of consistency. If you enter the same data to each program, you should get the same output data. Be interesting to see if that actually happens...then it just becomes...
You'd be very surprised. At one basic pistol course I audited everyone had to ding a steel target at 50 yards as a confidence builder. One lady did it several times with a 2 inch Smith & Wesson Airweight.
I shoot (or shot, till I sold it) my Desert Eagle in .50 AE to 200 yards with iron sights...
So what? If it doesn't bother him, why should it bother anybody else? There's no better way to know your limits than to test them. I'm sure he has no illusions about winning anything, but I give him props for thinking about trying. If I weren't pushing 60 and subject to heat stroke, I'd love to...
My first time at the match and it was a pleasure to help call hits and misses on the Mod Armory night shoot. That was a tough one, but I'm impressed that we had a couple of shooters clean the course...in less than 15 seconds. We're hoping next year the night shoot will be even more fun and...
Nuthin better than a Yeti. I've been around a long time and the stack of old coolers I've been through would stand taller than my house. I've tried
'em all, and I've never had better performance from any cooler than a Yeti. Last year in Yellowstone it lasted two full weeks with two 20 lb...
I completely disagree. Anyone of average intelligence who uses battery-powered devices knows about the perils of battery leakage. It's so commonplace that there is no need to even point it out. Good battery handling of any expensive piece of equipment that uses, especially, standard alkaline...
Re: NFA Trust Schedule B
The BATFE ALWAYS sends the Form 4 to the dealer, not to you, because until they approve the Form 4, THEY are the NFA item owner, not you, so it's up to them to correct the paperwork.
Re: Make a trust a head of time?
Actually, it's IMPERATIVE that you form the trust BEFORE you submit the Form 4.
I made that mistake, but caught it before I sent off the paperwork.
Here's how I did it:
Went to the SOT dealer and decided to buy two cans. They "created" the trust paperwork...
Re: HK USP 45 for suppressor host?
I've got both a .45 USP Tactical and a .45 USP Compact Tactical, both with threaded barrels. I just sent off the Form 4 paperwork Friday.
So, in about six months or so...or a year...I might get to shoot them with an Osprey.

Re: New Public Range - El Paso Co. Colorado - 1250 yds
Thought I might make it today, but I'll probably take a run down to check it out and get the range rules tomorrow, I'll post what I find.
As far as I know, the ranges face into Fort Carson's existing impact zone, so strays aren't too...
Re: Shot Show
I walked every aisle and saw every booth (momentarily for most it is true) and my Garmin exercise monitor logged 16 miles in three days.
It's one friggin big trade show!
I also brought home 45 pounds of literature...
