    Hoping for some suggestions on dead-lifts

    Use the lifting straps until your calluses get thicker. Once they heal, go without as long as you can. Rinse and repeat. Eventually your calluses should thicken up. Or you are doing something that causes the bar to move in your grip too much.

    Ellensburg,WA is around 3.5-4 hours from the Columbia River "Gorge". That's a chunk of time for us working + family stiffs. It's nice to have something local and casual. Those matches do look cool but I never have the time to go to them. I'm lucky if I can get half a day on a weekend.
