Whats the most powerful round I can put in an AR-10 build?

I bought the complete gun on a Black Friday deal. Super light. Little crude but at the time was hard to beat value wise.

Whats the most powerful round I can put in an AR-10 build?

That's probably the answer for the weird question. I don't think they sell just an upper unfortunately though so you have to buy a whole gun. If I could buy just a barrel and bolt/BCG the cost of entry would be a lot lower. There are also 45 Raptor which is a similar idea but based on the 460...

Not all of them but I doubt you could get an exemption for a semi auto.

New AR cartridge the 400 Legend

How close is it to 6.8 Basic brass that has been available for years? How much more would the case you're describing get you over a Valkyrie?

Why isn't straight pull more popular?

Sweet now do it with something that handles a modern round at normal pressures

Are the old Volquartsen LLV barrels threaded for a suppressor?

I think that's a tensioning nut not a suppressor but can't remember for sure. You might be able to have an adapter made that replaces it and has external threads.

Why isn't straight pull more popular?

Nobody who competes in Biathlon would use toggle bolts if they were able to use a semi auto. 10/22 based guns would dominate that sport if they were allowed.

Why isn't straight pull more popular?

As a percentage of the market they make up a tiny part. They offer very little advantage over proven systems. I bet if Zermatt or one of the big boys made a straight pull as good as their normal stuff they would sell but the R&D would be substantial. It's definitely not really needed in our world.

Why isn't straight pull more popular?

I wouldn't say nothing. Straight pull guns are 2-3 times the cost of conventional guns on the bottom end before the savage. I really think the main reason is that semi auto is going to be a better option most of the time when truly fast shooting is necessary and that's not an option for a lot of...

Why isn't straight pull more popular?

Until the technology allows them to be super slick and low effort as well as low cost they will never replaces the prevalent actions we use now. It's a tiny group of people that "need" a fast bolt action especially here where we can own semi auto rifles.

Anyone making 8.6 Blackout prefits yet?

Seems like a lot of the barrel guys are still backed up so I guess that makes sense.

Maybe Faxon would sell a blank you could send to someone who does prefits

.223 Rem 700 SPS upgrades and Barrel replacement

I see that now. I feel like that's just bad descriptions. With no bore/groove dimensions it's hard to imagine those specs as anything for a 22lr.

.223 Rem 700 SPS upgrades and Barrel replacement

I'm confused about your caliber question because it is a 22 cal barrel. The Origin is a great starting point but if you already have the gun and ordered the barrel might as well roll with it. With a 223 most people don't seem to be burning up barrels so a quick change isn't as big of a selling...

    Can/will 223 cycle in a long action?

It can be done but it seems like there is no situation where it would be worth the trouble unless you are stuck with that gun only. Savage used to do it but they had mags properly set up and a bolt stop that limited travel to basically make it equal to a short action.
