    Reloading for 300 Win Mag

If you go with new brass from the outset you shouldn't have to use anything but standard dies. I use a Redding body die to just bump the shoulder back in conjunction with a Lee Collet Die. I usually anneal every 2-3 firings. I never see much growth in cases so trimming is kept to a minimum...

    Large calibre scope survey

On my .338 I use a 6-24 Sightron with a 30MOA rail, gets me out to 2000 no problems. On my .50 I've put a 3.5-15 Nightforce although at the moment it's just sitting on a 20MOA rail it still dials out to 2000 yards. I just need to add a further 20MOA mount. The magnification is more than adiquate.

    Vihtavori N160

Yep I run N160 though my AX, you can work well beyond the book max (with care) to achieve the same results as 4350 with the 140's. I've run into pressure problems around 44gr, accuacy has been superb.

Is going to .50bmg worth it?

I'm new to the .50 BMG but so far I'm very impressed. As others have mentioned there are two ways to go - cheap milsurp ammo / reloads or match quality reloads. When I bought my rifle I was lucky enough to get 100 factory match rounds with it. The rifle is the Rangemaster 50 and the rounds were...

    VV N150 for .308 loads in stock 700 SD-AAC?

You'll not be disappointed with N150, for that weight of bullet it is an ideal powder and one I've had good success with. I use 44.5 gr with 175smk's and 185 scenars, would probably stand more but gets me accurately out to 1000 with a 20" barrel. Start low and work up as usual.

    AX .260 First Impressions

After a good long while of wanting to own an AI, I've finally been able to get my hands on one. I was lucky enough to find one for sale which had only had around 150 rounds through it. The guy I bought it from kindly arranged for the original .308 barrel to be replaced by the UK AI dealers to a...

    primers falling out

26 grains is on the hot side, and depending on cases used can either be ok or not. I get away with 26.4 N140 with RP brass but occasionally get the odd blown primer (CCI 400). If I interchange with Lap brass I get blown primers and sticky extration at under 26gr. I thnk Chrisgarrett summed it up...

what is the maximum you can seat ogive off the lands / jump?

I think the answer to your question is to look at the bullet manufactures published seating depths / COAL. For example .308 168 SMK is 2.80". You don't want to be going shorter than that for practical reasons obviously but that coal in any R700 factory chambered 308 will have a massive jump to...

Range Report Shooter or Ballistic (non AE)?

I bought both and they both work well. For me I do prefer Shooter, just seems easier to use (for me at least). Either one is a good option for the money.

    Budget 1000 Yard Caliber

Don't discount the .243 - you can pick up a R700 varmint and start from there. Even my 1:10 Tikka T3 is a capable 1000 yard rifle with 90gr scenars.

    Annealing before or after sizing?

You should anneal before resizing to get the most consistent results, however if you're annealing every other firing I bet the brass will stay pretty consistent without any noticeable work hardening.

Rifle Scopes what are your favorite low power scopes?

I've not looked through many of these low powered scopes but for having a bit of fun I've picked up a falcon 1.5-5 scope. Very solid, nice clear reticle that comes to aim nicely with a either easily visible green or red illumination. Can't really fault it for the money, though I'm sure it...

Rifle Scopes I guess my Sightron SIII tracks.

Awesome scopes for the money, I have the 6-24 on a .338 and the 8-32 on a .260. Tracking and glass both excellent, the MOA reticule is also very good. Glad you are enjoying yours.

    Torque Wrench for Mounting Optics

I started off with the Wheeler and to be fair it is easy to use. However since getting the Borka there is really no comparison. Use the two side by side and there is a big difference torque values achieved for any given setting. I trust the Borka, the Wheeler now just gets used for AICS stock...

Rifle Scopes Warne 1 piece 20 bases, any issues?

The 20 MOA tactical base is good, no issues for me. Mine sits on a R700 SPS tac with Seekins rings and NF 8-32 NXS. Go for it.

    N150 Loads for 168

    I use N140 for 168SMK's but I use N150 for 175SMK's: 44.5gr N150 175smk CCI200 Lapua brass 2550 fps (20" 1:12 barrel)

    Which neck die?

Try using some imperial sizing lube with the Lee Collet, only a small amount is needed to stop the scratching. I find also that the vertical scratches happen more after annealing.

GAP cz453 what this gun should be!!!

Nice! I'm looking to spruce up my CZ and there are some great ideas right here, bet it will shoot lights out. Love the custom rail, just now debating whether to get a T4 added to the next UK shipment.

Sidearms & Scatterguns How to remove carbon from a Smith & Wesson?

I need to order some, my Taurus is an absolute swine to get clean. Does anyone know if the midway equivalent is any good just in case I can't get hold of the Birchwood Casey?
