    I've owned both and still have my AI. I'd say my assessment and preferences is similar to deersniper's. The DT handles well especially if you need to deal with cramped quarters, but overall, I prefer the traditional bolt layout of the AI over the DT's bullpup configuration.

    Shortening 6" in barrel length will definitely yield a noticeable change in balance, and thus, perceived weight. You should see if you can find someone with the barrel your interested in just to test out the change in balance and weight and see if you like it.
