How would you develop a load for two rifles?

Re: How would you develop a load for two rifles? Unless you want to win at benchrest you should be able to find a single generic load that shoots well in both. The practical long range game generally doesn't require better than MOA performance and you will probably beat that easily enough...

Pros and Cons of Different Annealing Machines

Re: Pros and Cons of Different Annealing Machines I have the bench source and my only real complaint with it is that the way the cases drop out of it requires a little finessing. Assuming you want them to drop into some sort of box or something and not just roll around on the table, they...

    MagnetoSpeed Chronograph Review

Re: MagnetoSpeed Chronograph Review Thanks for taking the time to get an unproven product, test it, and share your data. You've help out a bunch of people, I'm sure. This should make load testing a lot less onerous, I hate having to setup the bloody chrono at the public range.

Recommendations on caliber other than 308?

Re: Recommendations on caliber other than 308? No reason to build a 300 WM for 600-1000yd comps. The 6.5 option is a popular choice for a reason. Good selection of bullets, brass, dies, performance, and barrel life. That said, I've been looking real hard lately at the 6CM option using...

How about a forum for everyone to post the questions they dream up while surfing around on the internet and over-thinking things? We could call it the "OverThink Tank".

    Gunsmithing Even number barrel lengths???

Re: Even number barrel lengths??? A lot of people just want to cut a little bit off their factory 26" barrel. There's not much point in cutting only 1" (you can't see/feel much difference) so 2" becomes a common unit of decrimination. Hence a lot of barrels end up @ 24" and 22".

    Gunsmithing Chamber protrusion

Re: Chamber protrusion It depends on if you want to use their reamer as the final dimensions or if you want to basically just have it roughed in and then have your reamer determine what the final chamber looks like. Personally I'd much prefer an unchambered barrel. You're going to have to...

    Gunsmithing Even number barrel lengths???

Re: Even number barrel lengths??? I always read these questions while visualizing Jerry Seinfeld doing his standup at the beginning of an episode. And just so I'm not accused of straying off topic, I have a couple of 19" 308s and a 23" 7WSM.

Gunsmithing my chassis is almost done-update 04/21/2012

Re: my chassis is almos done Nice work, are you going to bed it? What are all the (threaded?) holes down the side for? How much trouble was making the ghetto broach for the mag well? Would you do it that way again? ETA: Oh yeah, and what weight are you looking at now without the buttstock?

    Gunsmithing Chamber protrusion

Re: Chamber protrusion With a negative protrusion you wouldn't need the reamer, you'd just have to face off the barrel until the chamber was the proper length.

    Rifle Scopes Review: March-F 3-24 x 42 FFP

Re: Review: March-F 3-24 x 42 FFP If you are trying to hold significantly less than 0.1 MRad then I'd argue that this scope isn't really targeted to your application. I personally find that I can shoot more precise groups using the 0.1 Mrad center dot than with most other tactical scopes'...
