    Looking for precision dies

I've got both Redding and Forster dies, generally prefer the Forster. However, within the micrometer style seating dies there really isn't any difference, except the Forster is less expensive.

    Preparing for the rebarrel

I have a couple of criterion's on M12 BVSS's and really like them, one would be a good choice. For a .308 I'd go for a 1-10 twist, you can shoot most any bullet through it. The criterion barrels can be had in the savage varmint contour, I'd suggest that since it'll perfectly fit your stock...

De priming unfired primers. 215m vs 215

None. 215 and 215M are the same primers, no difference in performance or manufacture. The only difference is the 215M are supposed to be made by their more experienced guys and theoretically should be a bit more consistent. I believe they get an extra quality control inspection step.

Gunsmithing Barrel blank length reduction question

Re: Barrel blank length reduction question Performance, no it won't hurt that. However, you run the risk of having excessive runout between the bore and outside of the barrel. Barrel makers can't drill a perfectly straight hole, the bore always wanders somewhat. Barrel makers contour the...

Forster FL Sizing Die Factory Honing Question

Re: Forster FL Sizing Die Factory Honing Question My 6mmBR die has been honed by Forster. My loaded neck diameter is .269" and I had it honed for .266" and it has good neck tension. .003" is pretty much standard, .001" for brass springback and .002" for the neck tension. That being said...

    Short action muzzle brakes?

Re: Short action muzzle brakes? I'm sure you could have the barrel threaded & add the brake later, though I would just do them at the same time. I honestly don't about POI changes, I'd certainly shoot it with and without to verify. I just sent off two barrels from my savage M12 BVSS's to...

    The Forster Reloading Press.

Re: The Forster Reloading Press. I ordered one from sinclair a couple of months ago when I had a 10% coupon. It wasn't in stock at the time but it let me backorder it. I watched sinclair's website and never saw it show in stock, but a couple of weeks ago it showed up on my doorstep. It's a...

Honing FL Die for Lapua Brass

Re: Honing FL Die for Lapua Brass I've had it done for a 6mmBR die and really, really like it. The main advantage is it gets rid of the expander ball which makes for a straighter case, pulling the case back over the expander ball is the source of a lot of runout and works the brass too much...

    Does Pac-Nor Make AR Barrels?

Re: Does Pac-Nor Make AR Barrels? Kreiger makes AR barrels. They're a substantially better barrel than Pac-Nor.
