...I certainly am not intentionally offending anyone. I'm not speaking from a point of any authority, implied or explicit, I'm a novice. Completely green.
My question is, have we really come that far?
The Vintage Sniper Rifle forum feels "warm and cozy" because of my upbringing and family...
I happened to be at Cabela's today and picked up 178 gr AMAX. I really like the price on the AMAX. On my budget it allows me significantly more rounds than Sierras, etc. So, for IMR 4064, would you start with 175 gr load data or 180 gr data?
Correct. I think this rifle, as it sits, shows a lot of potential as a shooter. I'd like to do my part and feed it an appropriate .30-06 load.
Thanks! I was quite amazed. My M1903 hates the corelokt, but I shoot it occasionally because I am on a tight budget; it's the cheapest and I use it to...
Hi guys. Not new to reloading, but I've never carefully built a precision hand load for long distance rifle. I typically hand load for my M1903, otherwise lots of pistol ammo.
The rifle is a .30-06 Remington 700 from 1984. It is bone stock, including the Bushnell Sportview scope that came...
My grandfather (WWII USMC) was very very big on relaxation, close eyes, breathe, open eyes, adjust as needed but remain relaxed. He never taught me sling use, but he did beat NEVER MUSCLE into my brain.
Uhh... It shoots.
After much frustration getting the scope anywhere close to zero, this was my final 5 shot group. 100 yards, sandbags. This is just a $19.99 box of Remmy core lokt. I went super cheap anticipating zeroing difficultly
Barrel channel on the stock touched up to float the barrel, inexpensive web sling fitted until I can get my hands on a nice leather M1907. As American as apple pie and Jesus.
I picked this up as an inexpensive web sling for my R700. I'm used to shooting M1907 sling with my M1903... but unless I'm doing something wrong, I cant get the upper portion of the sling short enough for my arm. Looks like I'm going to have to drill holes further up for the upper keeper Chicago...
I'm considering redoing this 1984 factory R700 stock in linseed/GI oil. I love everything about the rifle except the gloss on the stock. Is there a way to do this without stripping and soaking the finish deeper into the stock? To make it worse, simple physical removal would be a challenge...
So I recently acquired a .30-06 R700 from 1984, just your standard good old American hunting rifle.
