    2650fps fossible with a 175gr in 18" .308?

    48 grains of 2000mr/175smk/Fed 210m/Win brass got me to 2650 out of a factory 20" 700 LTR. 47.7 is "book max", 48 showed no pressure signs at all at 95 degrees outside. My guess is an 18" barrel should be able to get there or darn close.

    I haved owned 3 PST's and really like them. But if you have the coin the Bushnell is the better scope.

    Finding .284 ammo and brass are like needles in a haystack. As much as I like my .284 there is no way I will do another caliber where the brass is made maybe ​once per year.

    The wait it about the norm for a custom stock. A McMillan stock is probably a 6 month wait. You were half way there, I would have waited instead of buying the BC. That's like getting tried of waiting for a Corvette and buying a Civic instead.

    Give Kyle a call. It is very solid, no movement at all. Easy to open and adjust. The original one was a bit loose and a pain to unlock.

    Actually bedding is pretty easy as long as you take your time. There used to be a great thread about it in the Gunsmithing section but I cannot seem to find it now. I found I needed to skim bed/bed lug the two B&C stocks I owned to obtain a good fit and torque.

    Hmm, kooky. I am a Vortex fan for sure but, it seems that some QC issues need to be resolved. I run a Razor now and love it. Of course it is quite a step up from the PST.

    Weird. So the lens that was etched broke? I wonder if the lens was somehow loose in the tube which caused it to break.

    On the flip side, I ran a standard Viper and PST on a braked 7RM pushing 180's at a decent clip without issue. I have to ask; how did the reticle break? Is it not etched into one of the lenses?
