    This is the classic 1-4x has the same turrets as the fixed scopes just shorter design. When I measured the turret zeroed and then bottomed out I would need a .075 shim. The +1 and +.5 of my fixed power shim set give me the .070 I would need.

    Called leica as I had not heard anything from them for a while. Looks like I am getting an upgrade to the 2400R for $250. The 2700 would have been $500+. Didn't need that much of an upgrade as I only really use it for setting up target distances and not much long range hunting.

    Waiting to hear back from leica. Most likely answer will be they will give me credit towards a newer model. Don't really need the ballostic software in a range finder as I use strelok. Will keep you in mind pending what they have to say.

    Weaver grand slam tactical sold at natchezss.com is another good option. Resetable turrets, mil/mil (not a big deal for hunting) lightweight, japanese glass (nice and clear) $200. Leaves enough room for a nice set of rings.

    Rifle Scopes Anyone have experience with the Weaver 3-10x40 Mil/Mil scope

    Japanese glass and lightweight. Hard to beat for the price. I have one weaver and one blackhawk version of the same scope. SFP variable with mildot and resetable turrets for under $200.

    Trying to remember how long ago I bought it. Would probably cost more to fix than to just buy a newer model. Saw some reviews of leica usa not being as effective with repairs as sending it over seas.

    It fell out of the gun safe and took a nasty hit while still in its factory padded case. Now it doesn't register distances or when it does it is way off. Any hope for this out of date range finder or do I need to just update to a newer model.

    Why not rig up a quick release brass catcher so you can take it off to show a cleared chamber after shooting, then put it back on for next stage. I am with you in getting brass back.     4x is fine at 100 yards. You are not shooting a 1" sticker but an 8" A zone on cardboard so higher magnification is not necessary. I will throw in the swfa 1-4 non HD version. Can be had around $300, great glass and good turrets. Second focal plane so the reticle is easy to see on 1x.
