    I'm going to get mine from Red Barn Armory. You can choose specific aftermarket parts in the LPK (e.g., hipertouch trigger, ergo g2 grip, Bad-ASS selector, etc.) so that you don't have junk or set aside half of the components.

    You register the lower not the upper and once it's an SBR it's always an SBR unless you tell the ATF to strike it from the registry. If you rid yourself the original SBR upper for a new one, the ATF asks that you contact them to update the registry. The ATF's website cites a specific example...

    If you can afford all three then put names in a hat and draw at random. They are all good. Some have better brand recognition and reputation than others, but they are all solid.

    Send the rifle and DBM to Mark Gordon at SAC and you will get it made right. Have him notch the feed ramp while he's at it. You tried doing it yourself, but was a bit more than you bargained for. No big deal at all and after it's all said and done your rifle will have a nice upgrade to it.

    Many people take a dremel (or use a mill if they have one) to remove that exposed section of the feed ramp scallop or put a notch in it. It's not needed for a DBM assembly.

    Good choice. If you get a heavy contour barrel you might not even need a muzzle brake, but perhaps you may want to thread and cap for a suppressor or APA Gen II bastard brake later on. Then go with this. Going with a custom action makes better sense if you don't already have a doner action...

    Unless you want to just tap your toe in the water, don't go the 700P route. Also, I think that buying a wally world donor action doesn't really save much money in the long run, and scrounging for all the parts is a real PITA unless you're in absolutely no hurry. Pick a gently or barely used...
