I would use #3. #4 is a nice tight group, but it grouped in a different spot than #1,#2 and #3. That worries me when things change. I would shoot three and see how it works out. Sean

Show me your extended range steel target

I have found the larger thinner targets tend to move more and make more of a noise when you hit them. If you only use them at distance, yo ushouldnt have to worry too much about damge to them. Unless you get start using AP rounds....

try a matte finish spray, krylon or duracoat if they make one, and the layer feel should go away.

    (300YARD), Semi-Auto, 6groups, 30round SHOOTOUT!

Thanks Elfster, I really appreciate you running these shootouts. I am learning a bit about myself with these events. Well, it was partly cloudy, and between 65 and 70 degrees. Not a bad day, the wind was increasing as I went through this event, the last group I rushed to try to get everything...

    (300YARD), Semi-Auto, 6groups, 30round SHOOTOUT!

I definately did not set the town ablaze with this set of groups. I love this fixed 10X scope, but it sure seems to open the groups up for me. I will come back and visit this challenge again with different glass on my rifle. Shot with my Frankenrifle Stag arms Lower BCM Upper, Delton 20 SS...

I got out and shot this today. This is tough as it gets. I have the target in my truck and will measure groups and get pics together sometime this week. I did not set any records with anything I shot. Sean

Hello from south central MO. Color me jealous on the range you have. I am hooked on this and trying to find a place to reach out to a mile.

If you are willing to drive a few hours south, we have an 800 yd range at Big Piney Sportsmans Club near Houston, MO. If you are headed this way, let me know and I will be there (or make sure someone else is) to let you in and show you around.

    Loads for .260 /.243/ 6.5x47/6.5 Creedmoor

I think hodgdon lists CFE223 as a powder for that bullet weight. I would use that if possible, it meters well. Throwing with my press mounted thrower sure beats weighing every load.

    300 Rum Loads

Well, I got out yesterday and shot a few more reloads. With this round I had varied the seating depth in an attempt to get rid of the vertical I was having trouble with at 600 yds. I varied the seating depth from 0.010" from the lands into the lands by 0.010" in 0.005" increments. Nothing...
