Lol. I can't read apparently. I'll shut up now.

    OCW test help please!

What about trying 178 grain AMAX? I was getting .3 moa or better with 168 grain SMKs, but have yet to find a combination with 175's that shoots as well.

    OCW test help please!

How far off the lands are you? I like 75.5 and would play with seating depth a bit on that load.

    OCW help...

I kind of like 44.3, actually. It seems 44.1, 44.3, and 44.5 all have the same general POI. 44.5 is starting to scoot left a touch and 44.7 is definitely to the left. 44.3 may be more in the middle of those impact points. I bet 44.4 may also be good.

Utah State Sniper Shoot 2013, Sept. 14 & 15 Results

This is something I'd really like to be involved in, but I don't think I have the skill to be competitive (yet) or the know how to be a SO. I wish I had seen this sooner, I would have helped with the targets. Would this be an observer friendly event where I could follow a squad around and see...

    My first load development!

That's what I was thinking too. I'd take 45 gr and then start playing with seating depths. But... there are certainly a lot of ways to skin a cat and I'd say you've got a pretty good load at 46 gr and -.0010.

    New case trimmer

If it worked better in a drill press, I'd order one right now. I've been using a Lyman e-zee trim in a small drill press and it works, but this would save me clean up time.

    OCW first timer

Here's an excel template that someone on here put together that does the math for you (if you're lazy like me). http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-reloading/193057-ocw-excel-template.html I don't see why you couldn't use the load data for the 69 grain bullets as long as you're...

Anyone in Salt Lake City, UT???

It's a few blocks away. Walking distance for me when it's not too hot.

Anyone in Salt Lake City, UT???

I'm a little south of SLC. If you're planning on staying downtown near the Salt Palace, I don't think there are many places you need to avoid. Little America is nice, so is The Hyatt Place which is right next to the Gateway mall. The Gateway has a planetarium and theater, plus the usual shops...

    OCW testing FAIL

The OCW instructions are all in percentages (Back off 7-10% from max and load up in 2% increments). For a .308, that typically will be .2 to .3 grains apart. As someone pointed out, you generally want to look at the center of each group and find a series of charges that seem to group in the...

Anyone heard of Magnetospeed LLC chronographs?

Would having it on the end of your barrel like that affect barrel harmonics? Does it seem to affect accuracy?

Graf .308 bullets in stock again

Yeah. It may freak out those that are changing seating lengths by .005", but the OCW camp seems to believe accuracy is less affected by seating length when you have a good OCW load anyway. Disclaimer: I am pretty new to all this stuff, so take anything I say with a grain of salt. :D

Graf .308 bullets in stock again

I ordered the 175's and just got home to find them on the doorstep. I'm heading to work soon, but I had time to measure 20 SMK's and 20 of the Graf's. Measurements are from the base to ogive. SMK: .6635, .6620, .6660, .6650, .6645, .6655, .6635, .6650, .6655, .6655, .6650, .6620, .6640...

    OCW test advice needed

The wind was terrible yesterday, but calm and cool this morning. Here's what I ended up with: I botched the shot left of the main group on 42.4. There were no overpressure signs with the Winchester brass I used today. It seems 42.5 and 42.6 have the same relative POI. I'm thinking I may...

Brand new shooter.... Spend $500 on match ammo or $800 reloading equip and supplies??

Check the Reloading Depot subforum here. There are sticky posts at the top for many of the popular calibers and recipes people have found to work for them. I'd write down all the powders that are being used with the caliber and bullet weight you plan to use. Tally how many times each one is...

Brand new shooter.... Spend $500 on match ammo or $800 reloading equip and supplies??

I got a RCBS rockchucker supreme master reloading kit and it has dang near everything you'd need to start out with. Single stage press 505 beam scale powder funnel powder dispenser (not needed to start with, but nice to have) reloading tray hand priming tool with flip tray...

Brand new shooter.... Spend $500 on match ammo or $800 reloading equip and supplies??

The improvement in consistency is the big thing that attracted me to reloading. I can load custom rounds for my rifle that will provide better consistency and therefore accuracy than the Federal Gold Metal Match rounds that I was shooting. The fact that I can shoot two to 3 times as much for...

Brand new shooter.... Spend $500 on match ammo or $800 reloading equip and supplies??

You're going to start reloading at some point anyway, so you may as well start now. I'd find the OCW recipe for the caliber you'll be shooting, powder you'll use, and bullet weight from Dan's website. Don't jump straight to that powder charge, but work up to it and keep an eye out for...
