Thanks. Why would there be ejector marks? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I just don't know. Joe

    Pressure signs

If I wanted to test the limits of my reloads by adding .2 a grain of powder until I hit the maximum limit for the different powders I'm testing, what pressure signs should I look for first? Thanks, Joe

    Primer depth problem

Re: Primer depth problem The two rounds that did not fire happened in the middle of the group and not next to each other. So with that in mind, I think the firing pin is OK, Maybe was a little dirty at that point. The CCI primers that AirborneFO talked about my be a factor. It was the first...

    Primer depth problem

Re: Primer depth problem The brass was new Remington. The primers are CCI. the gun is a 700 Remington in .308. When the rounds would not fire, I waited, removed them and when to the next round. I never measured how low the primer is sitting. I just noticed that it was lower than the rest. Joe

    Primer depth problem

Re: Primer depth problem Out of fifty, two would not fire. The primers are deeper than the rest of the group. They are not sitting flush with the case, they are a hair deeper. Joe

    home made case lube

Re: home made case lube I use this all the time. Liquid lanolin is found at health stores and the alcohol that I use is Iso-heat fuel line drier. The red bottle. It is 94% alcohol. I've been using this mixture for over ten years with no problems. Joe

    Primer depth problem

My problem is TV. I watch TV when I prime my cases. I use a RCBS auto-prime tool and sometimes I seat the primer to deep. Now pulling the bullet is easy so I can recover the powder and bullet but how do you get the primer out of the case with out it going off? Now these primers have a dent in...

    Gunsmithing Another Homemade stock build

Re: Another Homemade stock build That's a great looking stock. How much time goes into a project like that from start to finish? I do NOT have the skills to build something like that. Good luck with building them, it would be a cool hobby/sidejob. Joe

bipod vs. bags is one more accurate?

Re: bipod vs. bags is one more accurate? I'll add another twist, I have a Remington 700 that shoots great from a bipod, and a Savage 10 that shoots better off of a bag. I use a rear bag on both. Joe

Gunsmithing Bedding a Bell & Carlson A2 stock

Re: Bedding a Bell & Carlson A2 stock I was going to bed my stock but I figured I would just get a Bell & Carlson A2, not bed mine, and enjoy the new stock. Joe

Gunsmithing Bedding a Bell & Carlson A2 stock

Do you have to? It has a full size aluminum bed in it, but I keep on reading about people bedding them. I've been reading up on the A2 model (I really like this one) and I've noticed that people are bedding them. Am I wrong thinking that it's not needed? Thanks, Joe

    Am I doing this wrong?

Re: Am I doing this wrong? Novice31, I have not tryed to change the depth, but I will. The gun is apart right now because of me trying to bed the action so now is the time to start trying different loads with my already loaded stuff. Thanks, Joe

    Am I doing this wrong?

Re: Am I doing this wrong? NSO123, I have worked up a few, but your right, I need to do more. This is the best load I made so far, but there's a lot more testing to be done. That's kind of the reason for this post. I have not loaded 175's or flat based bullets yet. I kind of stuck with 168's...
