    Am I doing this wrong?

Re: Am I doing this wrong? I use almost the same load as you do boltgunluvr. I use 42.3gr's. of Varget, Remington brass, in my .308 caliber 700 Remington VTR. I can't get a tight group with it. I can with other rifles I own, just not with this one, YET. I'm just going down the list and doing...

    Am I doing this wrong?

Re: Am I doing this wrong? When I was younger I use to shoot a .220 Swift at 600 meters. That range is now a shopping mall. The .22 caliper at that range was a task. But great fun. The longer ranges are drying up around these parts. Joe

    Am I doing this wrong?

Re: Am I doing this wrong? CEGA That's what I wanted to hear. In all honesty, I'm just trying to get the most out of the gun. I am going to try a few heavier bullets anyway so I might as well try some flat based one also. Thanks, Joe

    Am I doing this wrong?

I've been reloading 168 grain SMK bullets to shoot at paper targets at 100 yards. I thought that I was doing the right thing. I now find out that this bullet won't stabize untill 300 yards and that I should be reloading a flat based bullet for shooting at 100 yards. Is this true? Please advise...

    Gunsmithing Hardened Parts

If I got this corretly, hardened parts are stronger but brittle. My quess is that recievers and bolts are hardened but barrels and firing pins are not. What other parts are hardened? Thank you, Joe

    Subsonic .22 Ammo

Re: Subsonic .22 Ammo This is the reason I love this forum, everyone gives great advice. I think what I'll do is buy a few boxes of different ammo and shoot it. This way I'll see what the gun likes. The grandson likes shooting it at 50 yards but I like 100. We'll make a game to see what the...

    Subsonic .22 Ammo

Re: Subsonic .22 Ammo Thanks, I just started shooting my .22 again after 40 years. Grandkids. All the reloading I do for my centerfire rifles it's good to just grab a box of .22's and take the grandson shooting. Then to hear I'm using the wrong ammo, well this worked 40 years ago. Joe

    Subsonic .22 Ammo

I was told that subsonic ammo is more accurate than standard .22's. Is it because of the heavier bullet or did I hear wrong altogether. Joe
