    Gunsmithing barrel work after cerakoat?

Everyone I ever did needed to be refinished. Last one only had minor marks where the spider touched it. This stuff is nowhere as near as forgiving as bluing or park when it comes to scuffing and abrasion from tools and holders.

    Gunsmithing Cerakote coming off

yep. I've been spraying the stuff for 5 or six years. Get a tight fitting bolt and bolt nose recess and the edges wear off pretty fast.

    Gunsmithing Reamer holder I found...

Lots of different views on how bores are dialed in and how reamers are held. I normally use a GTR Tooling fixed reamer holder Gre'-Tan Rifles I used to (and sometimes still do, depending on the conditions) use a Manson floater, which looks similar to what you linked to: DAVE MANSON PRECISION...

Gunsmithing Threading a shotgun barrel for choke tubes with a lathe.?

I've backbored and done choke tubes by hand and on a lathe. Its fairly straight forward and far more forgiving then rifle work. The Kuhnhausen book has a few set ups towards the rear THE REMINGTON 870 & M1100/M11-87 SHOTGUNS - A SHOP MANUAL | Brownells You can drive the barrel or the reamer...

I was too cheap to buy one- in fact I waited for another Sergeant to leave so I could buy his blues used- I sold those to someone else when I left.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Colt USMC .45 CQB Any thoughts?

I shot one of these at SHOT Show media day last year. I liked it a lot. I spoke to the dude at Colt who designed it about the broken frames, et al and he told me all the problems were addressed of. I guess he would have said that no matter what For a fact- I also know of a very well...

Gunsmithing Learning gunsmithing/machining, which gun to start out on?

Here is what I would do: go to summitt gun broker (http://www.summitgunbroker.com/) and buy a trade in 870 Police (or an older 870 Magnum from the pre police gun days). The 870P is sprung differently, the top of the receiver has a milled rib, the trigger guard is compressed metal and they come...

Gunsmithing Learning gunsmithing/machining, which gun to start out on?

I do this for fun, not a job, but I started out with shotguns, Ghost ring sights, then back boring, forcing cones, choke tubes... That lead to pistol sights, heines, lo mount Novaks, etc... Now I am building rifles. I think the rifles are the most reward because you have immediate feedback...

    Gunsmithing Need some ar tool

I like using starter roll pin punches like these: ROLL PIN STARTER PUNCHES | Brownells The longer ones are more likely to bend or break. Roll pin holders are cool, but not as important ROLL PIN HOLDERS | Brownells

    Stiller Predator Receiver question

The rear of the stiller isn't cut down like a Remington. They sell their own bases that have additional dowel pins in them (at least mine came that way). You could use two R700 front bases (from a 2 piece set) of you are in a bind.
