    Nice shooting, Shooterman!

    SK Standard Plus in stock

Looks like a good price for that ammo. As much as I've been wanting to try this particular SK Standard ammo, I'm going to pass and let others have a chance at it since winter is coming on and I'm not hurting just yet for .22lr.

    Marlin XT-22 as a cheap 22 trainer?

I had no doubts you would like that rifle once you said you got it. Savage makes some of the most accurate rifles in my humble opinion. Enjoy the fun!

Oct 2013 SH Long Range Rimfire Competitions

Here is my October Lucky 7 score - (By the way, don't pay any attention to the score on the target as I wasn't getting my head wrapped around the math for some reason), and my 100YB-25RD score; Lucky 7 - 100 Yards - Bench NAME: Joe Martin CLASS: S (Simmons .22 Mag 3-9x32 AO) RIFLE: Marlin...

    .22lr at 270m

Thanks for the video. Looks like you have a nice place to shoot. What was the target you were shooting at? I've shot my scoped Savage MKII FVT (subsonic ammo) out to 300 yards (unofficially) at a 20 x 20 inch piece of metal, and I found my accuracy to be erratic at best, at that range. I'm...

Federal Auto Match .22lr - Anyone Using It In Their 10/22?

Just got back from the range where I tested the Auto Match in my Marlin 925. It really didn't mark any better then the Fed 745 ammo, and actually I had several failure to eject from this Auto Match round - through this bolt action,,, along with a couple under-powered rounds. I was worried that...

Federal Auto Match .22lr - Anyone Using It In Their 10/22?

A couple of my rifles really like the 510B. As a matter of fact, this morning I'm taking one of those rifles to the range to test the Auto Match in it. It's my Marlin 925 that I did the (Spring) trigger job on to get rid of the dreaded "Lawyer" trigger pull, years ago. We'll see what happens.

    Some WWII trainers and others

Thanks for the pictures and this post. It's always interesting to see the rimfire training rifles. I feel this is a part of history that is over looked at times. It's great to see these rifles, and to see them in action.

Federal Auto Match .22lr - Anyone Using It In Their 10/22?

Well I got to the Range this morning to test the Fed. Auto Match. Since I last shot, using Fed. #745 (36g / 1260fps) ammo in my 10/22, I didn't clean the barrel, I just shot 30 rounds from 25, 35, 45, & 50 yards (standing) using the Auto Match to try and acclimate the barrel to the Auto Match...

long distance 22rl see bullet in flight.

I think something folks today seem to forget is that the old black powder Sharps, Trap Door Springfields, Remington Rolling Blocks, all chambered in 45-70, drop like a rock at long range. Look at the Creedmoor matches in the 1870's (800, 900, 1000 yards), if they had the scopes back then, they...

    Marlin XT-22 as a cheap 22 trainer?

I was going to suggest taking a look at the Savage line. I feel you made a good choice.

    22LR Ballistics calculator

This topic has been discussed many times, and you know,,, I still can't tell you, except the subsonic is more accurate then the high velocity due to no transition which caused bullet wobble when going from HV to SS. Someone will tell us again, I bet.

Federal Auto Match .22lr - Anyone Using It In Their 10/22?

It could end up hit & miss on quality, but I'm going to give it a try. One ammo that I thought would be good ammo was the Winchester 40g / 1150fps - T22, but that stuff was lousy. Now it did work good in an old single shot Lakefield/Savage MKI, which surprised the heck out of me.

long distance 22rl see bullet in flight.

Always fun to see the bullet in flight. I've actually even seen it on occasions at 100 yards, but more often at 200. Thanks for the vid.

Federal Auto Match .22lr - Anyone Using It In Their 10/22?

Friend of mine was shooting some of the American Eagle at the range one day, and he was getting pretty good accuracy with it, out to 50 yards.

    ruger american rimfire

I like the idea that you can change out the cheek rest. Actually, this rifle has peaked my interest. Look forward to more reports on it.

Federal Auto Match .22lr - Anyone Using It In Their 10/22?

For our occasional gong shoots at our local gun club I usually use the Federal 745 - 36gr - 1260fps, and it works good for slappin' iron with my 10/22, but I'm getting low on it and remembered the Federal Auto Match I have on hand, so I wanted to get some info on it. I do understand that it...

Federal Auto Match .22lr - Anyone Using It In Their 10/22?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I did a search on You-tube, and not many had a whole lot of good to say about it. That's why I ask here, 'cause if anyone's going to know, you guys are. Thanks again!
