A few months ago I messaged Tikka on FB where they told me definitively "first half of 2019". Then a guy (can't remember his name) from Whittaker guns tells me in December they're already being brought in under the Sako Select program. Then I asked Beretta and was told none are being imported. o_O
Ok, so I can get a Howa 1500 20" varmint .223 w/1:8 twist for $499 from Brownells. I can also get a 20" 1500 mini action (same twist) w/multicam stock for the same price. Any thoughts?
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't judging all chassis. The XRay and Bravo both look ideal to me. I just found the super thin "fore end" on the LSS awkward. Granted, if you only shoot from a bipod, I guess it makes no diff.
Can the Howa Mini handle the longer match loads should I decide to start reloading? I've been in contact with Matt @ LSI and he told me the Minis and regular 1500 will all be available with a 1:8 twist shortly. I just wish KRG made the bravo for the mini
Thanks Greg,
I have a few ARs and I'm looking to get back into bolt guns (albeit on a budget. Wife, kids, house, etc change things). I'm about to joing Ft. Meade's club so I'm stoked to have access to a longer range....
