    Grayboe Terrain vs MCM HTG

Looks like the Terrains do not have the drop at the comb like the HTGs, which is a welcome revision. The comb is much more like a Manners MCST. Should make shooting behind one, especially with larger objective scopes, much more comfortable.

Gunsmithing Moly Resin - Advice Needed

It is much more durable than rattle can paint, but prep is important. You will need to blast the item first, as Norrell recommends. Moly resin is easy to use and apply.

    Gunsmithing CDI Bottom Metal Install

An easy way to check how much: Rear screw - install the screw all the way in. Start backing the screw out, and record the number of revolutions it takes to get the rear screw flush at the tang. The number of revolutions is how many threads to take off. Front screw - with the bolt in, tighten...

    Tikka T3 Thread

Atlasworx out of Australia makes one that fits into the CDI Inlet. It is a fair bit less expensive than CDI. There is also one called Tier 1 out of Europe which can be purchased through a few International vendors.

    PTG M5 DBM: .223 vs. .308

The feed lips of the plastic 223 AICS mags are bicker than the metal 308 counterparts. This is a non issue with a remmy, but some actions such as a tikka require either the feed lips on the 223 mag to be narrowed or the action opened up if using the 223 mags. Regardless, the bottom metal is the same

    6XC opinions please

I use sized Winchester 22-250 brass in mine. Simple to size, and costs less than the Norma stuff. Admittedly, I've never owned a 6 Creedmoor so I can't comment on that round. I trust Scott's opinion, along with a few others on here that tout the 6 Creed as being great. There are a number of...

    BDL-Style Bottom Metal Recommendation?

The nice thing about the PTG metals though is they fit within the standard BDL inlet- the same can't be said for the Badger, and some Williams (older versions primarily) were not drop-in.

    BDL-Style Bottom Metal Recommendation?

I've had a couple Williams, and I would agree with other posters that they are great. For the cost, a PTG bottom metal is hard to beat, and I really like the Oberdorf style (I have owner or handled the standard, Oberdorf and tactical versions of PTG's bottom metals). However, a GAP hunting rifle...

    New kelbly atlas tactical action

My shooting partner runs an Atlas single shot, and I have a repeater. They are excellent actions without a doubt, and will likely continue to by my first choice when it comes to a build. Looking under the couch cushions right now... Ian, any expectation of providing these in a repeater with a...

    Bottom metal considerations?

Personally, I've found that you have to be a wee bit careful building a rifle with a DBM if you choose a barrel contour and length that are too small/short, as this can force the balance point of the rifle to somewhere at the magazine. Holding the rifle one-handed then becomes a bit more...

Duracoat is the same thing as Polane. More expensive per ounce, but much more manageable in smaller quantities than having to fork out the coin for Polane.
