    Well, before you start worrying about the atmospherics you better learn how to range using your reticle. Then develop wind reading skills, after those two you can pull out the thermometer, charts and slide-rule and have at it.

    You're going to have to define ethics, as except in the situation of "hunting" I don't see how those other examples have moral implications related to cartridge use. I guess you could include "combat" but not really on board there either. Unless you include hurt feelings.................

    Good for you! I've been cleaning/lubricating my TOMB's with Breakfree CLP (learned by accident) and haven't had a stuck suppressor since. Just an FYI......................

    Reading wind in heavy rain?

    Well, in "heavy rain" I'm just trying to get a sight picture due to keeping the lenses clear and reduced overall visibility. You can use the rain itself to help in judging wind to some degree, along with tree branches, clouds, etc. It's challenging, there's no silver bullet.

    You'll be limiting yourself in the ability to deal with mirage if you choose a high mag fixed power, just FYI.

    Yeah, I think 450 but close enough. You'll have to use a quality heat gun if you want to break it later (or a torch but I try and stay away from that.)

    My experience is that although Rocksett is heat resistant it doesn't take a lot of torque to break it. I use high temp red Loctite for TOMB and it hasn't failed me yet.
