    +1 for ESP's if you are going the "in the ear" route. I use them also when doubling up on handguns and big bore rifles and there is no feedback with the MSA's or Peltors. They are not cheap though and if you go with them have an audiologist make the custom molds, won't cost more and just takes...

    What are you going to use the rifle for? As mentioned 100 yds is pretty much the standard unless it's only for home defense, then maybe (or not) less.

    .223, you can load it 100 different ways for a trainer depending on what you are attempting to achieve. Lot's of factory offerings available, long barrel life and relatively cheap. Works for me, as always YMMV.

    UPS Issues

    I live out in the sticks and have never had that type of problem with UPS, although I no longer allow them to deliver to my residence. Can you find your location using a automotive based navigation system? If so, then it's just operator error.
