    Hornady coal tool

    I had one of those, best thing I did was throw it away. I got a nice digital caliper and just started with what ever the book said for OAL. Consistency/Accuracy improved dramatically. Used that for the reference point and worked from there. Typically I didn't end up to far from book OAL.

    I don't think it will be much of an issue. There are a lot of so called parents (no one on here, of course) that will just leave their kids at home to fend for themselves, then blame the system when something goes wrong. Everyone hates the government but needs someone to blame for their own...

    Controlled round feed

    Probably just depends on what you are doing and personal preference. I prefer push feed for the type of shooting I do. Most of the time, I just feed one round at a time, so CRF is really not needed. Once you get deep enough into this stuff, trying to save a few bucks seems futile.

    I got a complete WC Super Sniper upper, 20"/223/Wlyde Chamber. Shoots superb, easily .5-.75 groups. Sometimes better. Went prairie dog shooting, hit one at 425yds.

    For the 22's, I started using 17 cal rods, worked better for me. I use the polished stainless steal, didn't like the coated ones.

    I know what your going through. Its a fun thing to do and it looks cool. But, another thing to consider is resale value. With AR's it isn't great to begin with, painting it will make it worse.

    Cooper is a good rifle. If you factor in all the bullshit politics that arms manufacturers get involved with, you would never buy from any of them again. Colt, S&W, etc. I have had several Coopers and they all preformed exceptionally well.
