    Rifle Scopes 6-40 Screw Diameter

    Is there a caliper measurement you can to take to determine if a screw is a 6-40 or 8-40? Removed a base today to be replaced with a new one and I’m not sure which size the screw holes are. I have the screws that were on the old base however so I can measure those.

    Looking for a new 34MM mount or rings, worried about choosing the right height for this setup, want to make sure I at least clear that rear sight. Any suggestions? Would the Geissele 34MM standard mount clear?

    Ok sounds good, even with zero stop released it is still only went down another 2-3 clicks. So I will source a 0 MOA mount. With that said is that an appropriate scope for the rifle? Its only a 17 X

    See attached photo, US Optics in a Zero Delta 20MOA Mount (installed at factory) mounted to a M82A1. I figured it would just bolt and and then go through normal zero procedure however at 100 yards with POI about 18” above the target the elevation turret bottoms out. Wrong mount?

    Issues With 175GR SMK

    I don't know much info about this rifle - its a 700SA .308 W/Hart Barrel. It shoots very well with 168SMK, however with 175SMKs 4 out of 5 rounds have light primer strikes. Does this have to do with the OAL of the cartridge?
