    Break out the oxy-acetalyne and go to town. Worst case it needs replaced. Just make sure you don't booger the threads to screw it back in, or put too much heat on the bolt if you leave it assembled.     More than likely, yes. The barrel being out of alignment is a much lower likelihood than the handguard simply being installed a little crooked. The threaded junction of the barrel to the extension tightened to the receiver by a threaded nut is fairly self centering as far as alignment goes.

    I have been able to adjust the handguard on more than one cross by loosening the mounting screws, shifting the rail, and tightening them.

    If you can fit it in the freezer, I would do that for the little bit of shrink it gives Warm the gas block up and seat it with gloves or a mallet. Obviously make sure your barrel nut is on first!

    What mfg gas block? There are some that need to be heated to be installed. Throw the barrel in the freezer and warm the gas block with a heat gun or torch.

    You can use a smaller roll pin starter punch to compress the spring with the ball on top. The cupped end makes it less likely for the ball to fly off into oblivion.     The barrel could be masked at the muzzle device and the gas tube hole in the block plugged if you didn't want to have to re-pin and weld. The barrel nut presents another problem, but I've worked around that as well. Not ideal, but doable.

    Back end of your optic is sticking up because there's no countersink for the rear locating studs in the Holosun. The forward studs are also slightly taller than the countersink in the optic, so you end up sitting proud in front either way, without modification.
