that looks like it will work, varget is great in the 260 and doesn't give up much speed either. nice shooting

    .260 and Varget

I have decided to save the 140's for my creedmoor since they fit better in the mag and the 123's are shooting so darn good out of the 260.

    New Manners EH-1

very nice, did you get a weight on the stock before you assembled it? I am having almost the same rifle built right now and not sure what contour barrel I want due to not knowing the weight of the stock. I was thinking about a #4 Bartlein. Thanks

    OCW test help

yep, I like 40.2-40.5, if you have the speed you are looking for. If you stack these two groups on top of each other you would have a nice 6 shot group. Maybe fine tune a 40.3 load with seating depth and see if it tightens up but pretty good as is.

    .260 and Varget

The 39.3 varget load was 2892 average this morning at 55 degrees. I left the ammo in the truck all night. Also tried 40.5 varget with the 123 and averaged 2990 fps with about 1.25" 3 shot group at 300. The magneto speed raises my POI by 1 MOA at 100 and 200 yards, didn't have it attached for...

    .260 and Varget

    .260 and Varget

No problem at all, happy to share. The only reason I tried varget was because I just wasn't satisfied with H4350 results. I am going to revisit the H4350 loads this winter and see if the problem was related to outside temp and barrel getting too hot. Dan Newberry suggested I try the varget so...

    .260 and Varget

yes, same load. This is a hunting rifle with a #3 barrel so it heats up quick in the summer. It starts going sideways after 3 shots but should be great for hunting. I will be shooting the 39.3/123 amax load for fun but will be using this load for hunting season. Very happy with the cold bore...

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

    .260 and Varget

Did some cold bore testing. These are at 200 yards, first shot was last night after work, 90 degrees. Second shot was this morning, 68 degrees. Third shot was this afternoon, 88 degrees with 5 mph left to right wind. This was my 40.2 varget load with a 130 hunting vld seated at .025 jump...

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

It seems most comparators are a little different, if you get the average of a few bullets, that should yield a good starting point for OAL rather than BTO length. Once you load a few on either side of that you can get a BTO with your specific tool and your specific barrel. Most of the bergers...

6.5 Creedmoor with 120 gr Amax and IMR 4350

I have two books and one shows IMR a little slower than H and the other shows it a little faster so...I would think if you start low you won't have any problems, then you can find the max for your gun. Nice Gun

    260 Loads Only

That is looking good, have you moved your scope since the last time you shot the 38.6?

    6.5 Creedmoor/Varget/ 140gr SMK

If you can get H4350 no need to waste the Varget with the 140's, I assumed you couldn't get H4350 and wanted to try something you had on your bench. Anywhere from 40-42.5 of H4350 should be good. I am running 41.8 with the 140's and 43 with the 130's. I really like the Creedmoor, great choice.
