    I'm retiring my 6.5 Lapua barrel after 3800+ rounds. I also was shooting 123's at 2900fps. Started getting squirly at about 3K. Did the cleaning and moved the bullet up 80 thou and got up to 3800. Can't get it to group under an inch now. Thinking about cutting the barrel down the middle to see...

    Just checked my 6.5L today for throat erosion. .065 plus. Have 3500 rds thru it. Have been getting flyers etc lately. Pushing 123 Lapuas at 2900-2950. Figure another 500 rds or so.

    Gunsmithing Chamber throat too short.

    I goofed on chambering a rifle and now my throat is too short. I need more freebore for the VLD bullets that I want to load. Is there a safe way to open up the throat. I notice that PT&G has a throat reamer but have heard that this is not a good idea. What other options do I have if any.

    Whenever I order something like a scope, I always call to verify stock. That said, I have ordered a few items from SWFA before and sorry to say they just don't compare to companies like Europtics, Sports Optics or even Midway.

    I'd consider putting one on my 22 for the fun factor. As far as centerfire, I think the recoil would trash the phone sooner or later.

    Advice on using Fed 210 magnum primers in place of LR primers

    I use them in my 260 Rem, although I developed the load with the 215's. Like the other guy said reduce your load by 10% and work up till you get about the same velocity watching for signs of over pressure. Myself my loads are about 3-4% less than with 210's.
