    Gunsmithing Question on pad under barrel

    How important is it to have a bedding pad under the barrel just in front of the recoil lug? This is on a Tac338 action with 29in barrel, 1.25" breach end. 338 Lapua mag. The action is single shot so it's bedded completely under the action. Manners stock.

    I am chambering a barrel in 338 Lapua Mag. Just got close to correct headspace using a PTG gauge. I'm out about .004 so I check it, won't close. I tried a virgin Lapua brass and the bolt closed fine. I also had a extra factory Lapua round and the bolt closed on that. Tried some resized brass...

    Was having trouble ejecting brass on my 260 AR10. After looking at the extractor I figure thats the problem as the gripping lip is chewed up. Been looking on line for a replacement, no luck. Anybody know of some other venders that might have them? Would DPMS or other 308 AR company's extractors...

    Anybody out there shooting an AR10 rifle in 260 Remington and if so what kind of successful loads are you using? I have an Armalite AR10 that I built a second upper in 260 and have been having trouble finding reliable loads for it.

    Re: MOA reticles for spotters Had the USO spotter with MOA reticle. It sucked ,Sold it. Was about to give up on getting a MOA reticle spotting scope when I saw that Vortex came out with one for their Razor. Great spotter. Well worth the money.

    Re: Hand held spotting scope. As far as I know Vortex is the best option. Although I would go for the Recon R/T just for the extra power and ranging reticle. I would have gotten one by now if they would only option an MOA reticle.

    Re: New Old Stock Bad Idea? Not at all. Warranty is the same. I've got one or two from way back when. Still works great. You can always send them in and change the reticle. What kind of reticle is in the scopes now? Also are these the NXS ones? Service with NF is top notch.

    Re: Vectronix PLRF05 pics Mine doesn't do quite as well, best was around 4500yds on reflective targets. It easily doubles what I could get with my Swaro and Leica on non-reflective objects.
