    Which 22 WMR Rifle?

I've got a Ruger American TAP, OD Green Stock, 18" theaded barrel. It's standard apart from having the trigger spring removed and a DIP 25Moa rail. The trigger ends up around 1lb. With CCI and Hornady 30gr VMax loads it's stupidly accurate - 1/4" 5 shot groups at 50m. It's the cheapest 22wmr I...

Solution to a slow Tikka barrel

I think it comes down to barrel tolerances and maybe metallurgy between stainless and carbon steel barrels. Tikka's are hammer forged barrels. The mandrels used may have different tolerances. I imagine Sako/Tikka produce a lot of barrels to supply worldwide production. I had a factory blued...

    Strongest .22lr bolt action

A Lithgow LA101 should be right up there with action strength. 3 rear locking lugs, bolt diameter and action wall thickness is also larger than most. You should also be looking at how an action deals with venting gas in the event of a case failure.

Convince me that the 7-08 AI is a good idea.

I've just rebarreled a Tikka that was originally in 7-08 that I've been using in Tactical/Precision comps out to 1000 yards. Was using Berger 168gr Classics and have used alliant 2000-MR and RL 17 with velocity right at 2800fps with both powders - Lapua Brass. Have also run H4350 but velocity...

Tikka CTR .260 case/chamber spec help needed

Try a Berger 140gr Hyb or 135gr Classic Hunter. Less sensitive to seating depth. I had a tikka in 7-08 that was a 2 moa gun with 168gr VLD's at best. Diff powders; seating depths etc. Went back to 168gr classic hunters after 12mths of nil supply. 3 consecutive 5 shot groups at 200m, .7", .6'...

    6mm Dasher

I don't have enough rounds on mine to comment. I'm using AR2208 (Varget) and AR2209 (H4350) behind 105gr Berger Hybs. I have a short freebore - .104". 32.5gr Varget and 36gr of H4350 shoot to exact same point of impact at 100m. Those using H4895 (AR2206H in Australia) any comment on the...

    New Howa 6.5 CM Build

The Howa HACT trigger is very easy to lighten up with a 5min spring change. I have a small coil spring pack from Brownells I use to lighten Howa and Tikka triggers. You can easily change the first or second stage pull weight to whatever suits you. I've done quite a few HACT triggers around...

    Tikka T3 Thread

One unseen positive to this is that you can dremel out the cheek riser to provide the exact amount of clearance required specific to your bolt stop spec. Possibly the only negative regarding T3 actions is a non bullet proof bolt stop. I've never had this issue with hard use and I put that down...

    Tikka T1X

Great news on the T3 action footprint. I hope they've gone with a threaded barrel/receiver interface. I'm going to assume it uses a T3 trigger as well.

    Tikka T1X

The new Tikka T1x doesn’t disappoint. The bolt operates smoothly. The action feels solid and refined — like a good centerfire action. The trigger is excellent — it breaks cleanly with no creep or grittiness, and we’re told it can be easily adjusted below 2 pounds pull weight. The stock has a...

    Tikka T3 Thread

SuperSneakySniper, I've had no issues running mine in dusty environments, including slung over my back on a motorcycle chasing pigs in dusty outback locations. Like most actions if they are over lubed they become dust magnets in this environment. I use a very minimal smear of grease on the...

    Tikka T1X

Wouldn't it be nice if the designers made this the same action footprint as a T3 meaning same trigger and stock options with a specific dbm to position the rimfire mags. They'd take off like a wildfire!

Tikka CTR Stock Upgrade - Thoughts?

https://www.bellandcarlson.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=1129 Not as good as a Manners but a heap cheaper. I'm going to get one to try and just change back to the factory stock for hunting. I've stiffened the forend, added pillars and bedded my factory stock. It's...

Rifle Scopes Meopta Meopro side by side Leupold VX-3i???

I've just bought a Leupold VX5HD - 3-15x44 for my Tikka CTR. I have compared it side by side with my Minox ZP Tac set on 15x right into nightfall. The Leupold has pretty decent glass and well sorted illumination. I was originally looking at the VX6HD in 3-18x44 but it's quite a step up in...

    Rifle Scopes Tangent Theta 5-25 v Minox 5-25 v Nightforce 7-35 v Schmidt & Bender 5-25 v Vortex 4.5-27

Thanks for taking the time to put this together. I've had the ZP Tac with MP4 reticle for just under 12 mths. I've previously owned a N'force 4-16 F1, Steiner TX5i 3-15 and have had access in the past to Vortex Gen 11 Razors. S&B PMII, Premier, March, Kahles etc but rarely at the same time...

    Tikka vs Custom Build

I have three builds on Tikka T3 actions, 6mm Dasher, 7 Rem SAUM and 7-08 (in process). The actions haven't needed truing and both the SAUM and Dasher have no problem shooting .5" groups at 200m with quick load development and I'm no bench rest shooter. I've competed in long range tactical...
