    Gunsmithing Barrel short chamber protrusion

    Just order a preturned and threaded short chambered barrel for your 700. That's all you need to do. 300 WM 1/10 twist or what ever you want. They will leave enough for you to finish.

    300 Remington Ultra Mag in AICS 338 Lapua Magazine

    You can cut a piece of foil tape and cover the slot, spray flat black if you want. Don't cut all the way down, just 2.250" from in front of the feed lips to clear 5 rounds. PS: The 300 WM works better than the 338 Lapua mag for the RUM case.

    If it was me I would use the 300 Win AICS mags, the Lapua has a much bigger base than the 300. I use the 300 Win in my RUM's

    308boltgun, You got me, I only have 4-550's and do 90% of my loading on them. I load my 300 RUM and 338 RUM on my 40 year old RCBS Rock Chucker. Get the 550 and don't look back, you could get a 650 later if needed but the 550 is so easy to use. Just my .05

    Wayne, What is your lathe sitting on, do you have any kind of mount under it, bolted to floor ? I have the same 0709 lathe and mine runs smooth, I used the rubber pads that Grizzly sales. PS: mine does have some vibration to it , I can see the light shake.

    Don't do it that way, you need to support the shank of the reamer some way to keep it going in straight. Call a Gunsmith. Just my .05

    A 850 H.P. John Deere diesel vs. a steam tractor rated 18 H.P?

    Yep, wood and maybe some coal to make the smoke black and make the fire hotter and last longer. As a side note the height of the draw bar didn't help the green machine it just wants to lift him and adds weight to the steam tractor. I'm guessing that the steam tractor could have pulled half doz...

    bullets way out of round

    They pinch the case to let the bullet release, case is junk and sometimes the bullet is also but the powder is ok. That's just the way they do it. They should have told you.
