    Ridgeline Defense RD-15 LPR

Hey Guys, Glad to see the growing interest, for those who don’t know I am the Director of Special Projects at Ridgeline and bring the Ridgeline LPR through development to production has been my main effort for the last six months. So if you got questions let me know! Regarding some of the...

    Hodge Defense In Review

No I haven’t even seen one in the arms room yet. Honestly seems neat but the URGI with the ATACRs has been filling the SPR/DMR role pretty effectively for a couple of years now and we still have the Mk17/20s for battle rifles /SSRs if something with a little more heat is needed. I am curious but...

No I don’t have any significant experience with it to draw a conclusion.

Oversized Barrel Extension Preventing Installation Of Barrel on Thermo Fitted Upper Receiver

To clarify, what are the no shit actually dimensions of the barrel extension and receiver that you are attempting to fit? Reading back through the thread multiple times as I understand it you have a barrel and a receiver that aren’t going together but I can’t find you giving and actual...

Oversized Barrel Extension Preventing Installation Of Barrel on Thermo Fitted Upper Receiver

Sooooo what’s the measurement of your barrel extension and receiver? As JBoomhauer has explained calipers are not gonna work…well. Calipers will give you a rough idea or allow you to maybe see how things are trending “IF” you’re skilled like in the sense you’re doing this every day, then you...

Oversized Barrel Extension Preventing Installation Of Barrel on Thermo Fitted Upper Receiver

No offense but 0.0013 over size isn’t really a big deal. I literally did match up with 0.0046 over size (average measurements from 12 different point between receiver and extension) last week, it went fine.

MK 12 Picture & Discussion Thread

In USASOC 22s were fairly common early on but I’d say mostly phased out by 2010. 24s from the Block II program got a lot of use, it’s technically optimized for 4-6x but I’d it was still better resolution than most of the 22s being field. I personally employed the 24s on my Mod 0 and 1...

I’d say SIMRADs were even less likely on a Mod 1.

MK 12 Picture & Discussion Thread

I’ve never seen a Kn203/253 in service on a Mod 0. It’s feasible but those things sucked and were completely sidelined in favor of UNSs like the PVS22/24/30 for what I would consider the vast majority of the Mod 0 fielding.

    Best Match Ammo for .223

77gr. Federal Gold Medal Match is hard to beat in terms of accuracy, precision and consistency velocities. I shot this 50 round group (bipod/rear bag) one afternoon at work out of curiosity. Honestly the gun and ammo will probably shoot tighter off a fixture, shooting it prone like this means...

    18" 6 ARC vs. 18" 223

Inside of 600y .223/5.56 is the probably the easy button. 6Arc has a ballistic advantage but inside of the range perimeters you’re suggesting it’s going to be a marginal gain for the vast majority with the exception of some extreme conditions. Additionally 6Arc has some mathematical gains in...

    Hodge Defense In Review

I won't say "hand of god" but its probably one of the nastier 5.56 projectiles and with a frag threshold down around 1900fps it brings a lot to the table for short barrels. M855A1's precision capabilities are a bit inconsistent unfortunately and limit it to a 400 meter-ish round in my opinion...

    Lets argue about the M24

Some notes concerning bullet selection from earlier in the thread… Every one seems baffled why the 190/220 SMKs were selected for the Mk248 loads over so many other options that seem to have such obvious advantages in B.C. The short answer is that one has to get their nose out of the ballistic...

    DLC on BCG's ..pro's v. con's ?

So far I’ve be impressed with DLC BCGs, obviously it’s not exactly new technology, it’s something I’ve seen out and about in the industry for the last decade or so. That said I am curious why is not more prevalent (cost would be off the cuff guess). I’ve been involved recently in testing...

MK13 Mod 0 load development range day drama

Well, might I inquire about your bipods? In the picture shared they look loose and I cannot tell but they appear to be the not cant version? Additionally have you tried any of the 190gr SMKs loads? I know a lot of guys chase after the Mk248 Mod 1 clone loads but I’ve honestly found the the Mod...

Current status on 6 ARC reliability?

Rarely, can’t even say when the last time I saw a 6.8 was. They typically don’t have the best trajectories at distance, I mean it could totally be done but 6ARC and a few stragglers with Grendel’s make up small frame outliers. In the larger frames it .308s and 6.5cm predominantly. Normally you...

Current status on 6 ARC reliability?

@LRRPF52 Well articulated insight, I think you’re pointing out the necessity that a 5.56 SPR and a 6ARC/6.5GR / or whatever precision gas-gun really need to be held in different contexts of philosophy. My perspective of small frame precision gas-guns is obviously shaded/basis from experiences...
