School me on precision suppressor(s) vs. brake

Wait, you put the brake on and now you have a difference in your point of impact vs your point of aim… and you want to buy something to correct that? Why not just zero it instead?

TT primary or Timney 517 v2?

I’d see if there are any Labor Day sales, I don’t think they are all at list price everywhere like they currently are. I got a primary for a backup that was 120 just 4 months ago on Memorial Day or some similar holiday.

TT primary or Timney 517 v2?

If it’s your first trigger, both will be fine. Both are too heavy for my preference, add a bit more money and get an upgraded version. You should be able to find a special for what you quoted a primary price as. If it was a month ago and july4 sales were happening it would have the special for...

If no intention of swapping scopes, any downside to an action that's tapped for direct scope rings?

Provided it’s of sufficient quality so that the taps are in the right place and correctly in line, nothing wrong with it. Aka, my cousins savage axis is observably poorly tapped to the naked eye, his rigid mount rings have him tapped out on windage without a true 100yard zero and pinched the...

Solus or Origin for first custom build?

Origin. The solus is... fine, but its not better than the origin in anyway, equal in some, better in none. Customer service reports/experiences would push me to the origin all on its own.

Can these feed ramps be saved?

It may scuff up a few bullets if you left it as is while drag over smoothing it back out again but I don’t think that would have any “functional” issues.

Can these feed ramps be saved?

A little oil and steel wool. I’d be more concerned about the bore. Keep your stuff lubed.

Suppressors and magneto speed chronograph use?

Just use the alignment rod to make sure you have proper clearance to the bore.

Remington 700 bolt marks on breech

Is it oriented correctly? Aka, the marks are actually supposed to be top and bottom where they are placed when the bolts closed and they arent rotated 90 deg and its actually from slamming the bolt forward before engaging the locking lugs? It’s generally not great… but if its shooting to your...

2 heavy bolt lifts and dirty cases

The hottest loads starting to show heavy extraction is normal. The dirty cases, I’ve had it sometimes and I contribute it to the hot gases post firing mixing with the cooler maybe more humid air and immediately condensing onto the chamber, which gets transferred to the case body when it’s fired...

    6.5 CM ammo Question

If you aren’t wanting to shoot far, the more bullet mass won’t have any tangible effect, shoot the light stuff if you are fine staying between 1-300. If you get out to past 600 the heavies will pay off.

Failure to eject - Defiance Ruckus - 338LM - heavy bolt lift

That’s your issue, watch the clickers and die matching chamber videos. https://www.wheeleraccuracy.com/videos

Failure to eject - Defiance Ruckus - 338LM - heavy bolt lift

You mean it’s not extracting, it’s stuck in the chamber. Measure your brass, base shoulder neck diameters on the virgin/sized vs the fired. Do the case rims get mangled where the extractor slid off? Being a rukus it should have an m16 I think.

Quicker to take some steel wool to it if it is the gummy stuff

    Suppressors OCL Polonium 5.56 or B&T PRINT-XH RBS 5.56

I’m happy with my polonium but I don’t ever shoot without the can so having gas tuned for a bare muzzle as well is no issue to me. If I did plan to shoot it both a low back pressure would be more valuable, it’s just not to me personally. I wouldn’t worry about “lasting longer”

School me on 223 AICS mags

Accurate mags are the only ones I haven’t had to mess with the mag well at some point across several chassis. I say avoid the polymer bodies.

    A peculiar problem

Not sure of the vendor but on Sierras page it’s pretty clearly titled as such https://sierrabullets.com/30-cal-180-gr-tipped-gameking-tgk-optimized-for-30-06/ https://sierrabullets.com/30-cal-180-gr-tipped-gameking-tgk-optimized-for-300-win-mag/
