Looking for recommendations for a long range scope

I've had really good luck with Cronus, I've never used that Luepold specifically but I'm sure you'd be happy with it as well. I don't think there's a wrong choice here. Be sure to get a mount with enough elevation to max out the optic, things drop off quick after a mile

    22 creedmoor

I'd go 8 also. The 90 gr Bergers want 7 twist but they don't hold together at that so just drop down the bullet and spin em slower

PRS Talk New shooter timing out a lot

IME most new shooters waste time acquiring targets, which is easy to practice and doesn't require you to actually shoot so it's free. As mentioned no sense rushing through stages just to miss them all, focus on making good shots and you will naturally speed up with practice.

What is your favorite folding knife?

since I posted in this thread 2 years ago, I've lost or broke 3 Spyderco PM2. I switched to a Civivi Conspirator. It's not as fun as the PM2 but it does it's job, I even bought a spare for when something happens to this one.

AB Quantum allows you to send the identical profile to both devices so you are certain you didn't fat finger something. I link to my kestrel also and put it on a wind vane to use it for wind and direction. My Binos weren't sending DOF to my kestrel so I had to send them in for repair.

    Kitchen knife handle replacement/repair

I paid for it, it's my knife, I'll clean it how I want. edit: PS I've also got 17 year old Henkel's that have gone in the dishwasher since new. Zero sadness if it busts now.

Krauger action wto switchlug build - 3 caliber ackley improved need advice. 510 whisper 338 lapua 300 rum.

could do a 300 NM instead of the RUM save yourself the bolt face difference. I concur that it's just as easy to skip the WTO lug and just screw on and off shouldered barrels

    Long range build advice

with a good center mass shot lots of the time it'd just zip straight through, best was to shoot them in the feet so it would take some ground with it and really launch them, there was lots of half prairie dogs laying out there lol

    Long range build advice

Everyone is different. I needed to form brass for my 375 so I took it to shoot prairie dogs, shot 100 rounds in no time and wished I had more. LOL that was fun.

    Long range build advice

The only thing a 338 Lap provides over a 300 PRC is better splash which may or may not be valuable depending on his ground conditions. It's usually pretty easy to spot a 30 Cal at a mile even in suboptimal conditions. The Lap requires more expensive and harder to find components. The ballistics...

    Long range build advice

Basically right now he want's to shoot out to 1500, doesn't know where that will take him yet. He's got a good build started for what he wants. It's impossible to build a rifle to a specific need when he doesn't know what that is yet.

My only problem with that is usually people end up with Hornady factory ammo and the brass sucks wieners.

Nothing wrong with any of the choices there. I prefer a single stage but that's up to you.

Heaviest contour you can, Skip the fluting, I'd go 32" but looks like they only offer a 28" I'd go 1:8.5 but a 1:9 will work also.

    Tikka T3 Thread

Does anyone know if this piece on a Tikka firing pin is available separate. The entire assembly isn't terrible but I thought maybe save a couple bucks. I punched a primer and it broke the little tab off that holds the shroud on, purely aesthetic but I think it looks better with the shroud on.

They use the same laser. Most of the cheaper LRF use the same laser, the better ranging capability comes from the processer being able to filter out the "noise" and determine an accurate range. Beam divergence may vary but I'm not sure how much, between the 2 there's very limited performance...

I'm the same as @Schw15 mostly stay around 16 and not touch it, for really little targets I would power in a bit, if I was having trouble finding a target I'd zoom out.
