    Vortex Impact 4000 Gen 2

Only zero loss I have suffered was from spotting scope mount shifting because scope can move on mount. This is with BDS mount. As long as I am careful it does not shift I run it all day in eight hour classes regularly. I get about 1.5 days per lithium battery. I have ran it on rifles and no...

Ounces equals pound. Well that would be me. When I was young and very fit I carried my M40a1 on a couple of NorCal Coastsl deer hunts. 4000 elevation and 100 plus temp. It was not nearly as fun as my 7lbs hunting rifle Weight is your friend for Precision. It’s not your friend for travel in...

    Prototype Leupold Ultra 16X-M1

My friend I used one from 1984 until 1995 on a sniper rifle. Ultra was designed for the Army and they built M1, M2 and M3 models. Great scopes. They changed name later to MK4 and dropped the M2 version

Vortex Impact 4000 GB First Impressions

I love mine I use it mostly attached to my spotting scope One thing I did different is I don’t like the remote mounted to weapon or spotting scope. I a put my remote on a lanyard and hang it around my neck. Much easier to activate and have no Movement induced to spotting scope

    Rifle Scopes Revisiting drop testing

Well as to testing. I have 40 plus years of professional shooting. I worked for several scope, ammo and rifle companies. Plus 35 years of competition and teaching to shoot My results are it’s almost always a shooter, loose action or mounting issue. I say that very quietly so I am not accused...

    Vortex Razor LHT

Many times it’s easier to blame equipment than accept the shooter made a mistake Most scope problems I see teaching are actual 1. Loose or bad mounts 2. Loose action screws 3. Action to stock interface problems 4. Shooter bad shooting position 5. Improper cheek piece height or LOP for shooter

    Scope choice for a mile

I have been using Gen 3 6-36 Vortex Razor for three years regularly shooting one mile plus. You should consider this scope. I run 20 moa base on rifle plus 20 moa scope base for 40 moa total. I can zero at 100 yards and still have plenty of of adjustment left past a mile. That’s with 6.5...

    Vortex Razor LHT

That goes with my teaching experience as to most rifle scope problems Shooter error Bad installation of parts Are the two most common scope/rifle problems I fortunately we live in a time of it can never be an individuals fault so equipment is often blamed for other issues
