    16-18 inch shorty rifles

18” 6.5CM is definitely where its at after playing with the 20” 308 barrel. I can’t wait to get handloads rolling to boost the speed up.

To PCC or not to PCC...?

The only thing that stopped me from going PCC was the fact that I would want a SBR for size. Like you said, I want some actual ballistic umph if I am going to swing a 16" barrel around. For most people though, a 16" PCC is a blast to shoot. Might not be the most practical if you are looking at...

Accessories **PULLED** DT SRS A1 16.5" 6.5CM Barrel (Kit possible) **PULLED**

They are compatible, but the barrel must sell first before I even consider it in the event a buyer wants the full conversion. Ideally I would keep the bolt for a future SAC 223 kit, but money talks.

Top scope brand that costs 4k+ keeps cracking

Great, I can't buy a no compromise optic without compromising on my mounts now... In all seriousness, I still have some questions: Was the original optic that OP cracked repaired or replaced? If repaired, is this an example of some really unlucky tolerance stacking? If replaced, something else...

Accessories **PULLED** DT SRS A1 16.5" 6.5CM Barrel (Kit possible) **PULLED**

No thanks. Great barrels, but the cash is much more useful short term than a barrel I will rarely if ever shoot in the next two years.

Rifle Scopes New high power Nightforce NX8?

Before I get my popcorn ready in response to your other comments, I switched from the Mil-R to the Mil-C in my 4-16 as I have little to no use for a tree and my hunting is wide open country. 4x is still plenty useable, even in winter tree rows. If I were to be shooting close range in dark...

Accessories **PULLED** DT SRS A1 16.5" 6.5CM Barrel (Kit possible) **PULLED**

***Pulling this down for now*** ES Tactical did the work a couple years ago. Only had the chance to put 60 rounds through it before I went back to school and shooting effectively ceased. If someone wants the full conversion kit, I am not against selling the bolt and I believe I have 4 mags... I...

    Rifle Scopes Bubble Level Sensitivity

I have been in a sort of "anti-bubble" camp for the average shooter because of my experiences with the two ideas above. I say the average shooter because the average shooter will be lucky to visit a 1k range more than once year. I don't leave bubbles mounted on my rifles, but I have tried two...

Nightforce ATACR 4X16X50 F1 for a new rifle build

While I haven't had the pleasure of checking out the 4-20x model, I prefer the 4-16x42 over the 4-16x50. It has been my main optic for 4 years now. People can argue the low light benefit of the x50 all they want, but I didn't see enough difference to make or break a shot. I would rather take the...

    Rifle Scopes Vortex LHT 4.5-22x50

Come a little farther west and do some flicker tail shooting. The ground squirrels are about half the size of a prairie dog, so great fun for marksmanship. No where near as destructive as the dogs, but they still do a number on cattle via broken legs so the ranchers want them gone. Back on...

Could use some help on a scope

This question depends too much on you personally. Go take one of your other rifles out there and look at the target at 1000 yards on different mag settings and decide what is enough. Resolution trumps magnification, but some people prefer the target to fill more of their vision regardless...

Atlas PSR v TB Bipod for SPR

I prefer my ol' Harris over my Atlas PSR on my Recce/SPR thing. I love the PSR on my main precision and calling rifles though. All about the use case. I can see a TBAC in my future. The Atlas has never felt slow, but rather i tend to lazily throw the bipod out on my AR for quick and dirty...
