Advice Requested ... AMP arrives tomorrow !!!

If you decide to clean before you anneal, and use corncob or walnut media, make sure all cases are free of ALL media. I had a case with a couple pieces of corncob still in the case when I annealed. It really stinks... My brass never hits the ground, so I anneal before I clean (usually)...

    New Falkor bolt action

:ROFLMAO: My problem is not wanting my brass to hit the ground (snow that day), due to my reloading practices. My Borden BR action was spitting the brass out of the dual port like crazy that day.

    New Falkor bolt action

Finally got mine out yesterday after throwing some loads together. * KRG Bravo chassis * Brux Rem. Sendero contour 1-8 twist * Jewell trigger set at 10 oz * 22 BR with a Manson reamer: .252 neck and .050 FB This is primarily a varmint rig for p-dogs, so 75 grain bullets will be heavies, and 55...

    6BR family: Other than Varget?

What was the barrel life using H4350? Barrels are a tool that have to be replaced regularly as part of our sport, but I would want to be able to see 2K plus on a barrel without the throat being toast. I go through that many rounds on a p-dog shoot in SD every year. Another concern will be OAL...

    6BR family: Other than Varget?

My concern with compressed loads will not be with a powder like H4350, but with a powder like R17 that has a quick spike when it reaches the top of the curve. I also look at the length of barrels that are being shot, and wonder if the pressure curve has had the necessary time to work properly on...

    6BR family: Other than Varget?

There are several powders that work well, but some are better than others. I started with a 6BR quite a few years ago, and was told " 30 grains of Varget with a 105 hybrid and BR4 primers seated 10-15 off". Varget is not the barrel burner some think it is. I just retired a 6BRA barrel that had...

Rifle Competition Events What would you change or do differently with current competitions/organizations?

This has been an interesting read for me as an outsider to the PRS style matches. I come from the f-class and bench rest side of competitions. I have been the match director for many state and regional f-class championships, and believe me, it's growing. The club I used to belong to started a...

    22 Dasher

As Orkan said, a good die should be able to do it it one pass if you lube the body and neck well. I did a bunch of 6BR to 22BR brass today. The only difference you and I have is a 10 degree shoulder angle. I did turn my necks prior to running them through the die, because I know that my brass...

    6BR family: Other than Varget?

Still some floating around out there. I just picked up 4 lbs this week at a little bait and tackle shop. It doesn't have the new fancy packaging and labeling as a "extreme" powder that many newer reloaders think is all that will work. I started out shooting old mil-surp powder that was poured...
