    Ball type ammo isn't really precision ammo though. For those saying their 7 twist didn't shoot 55s good enough, did you do load development and try to find a load? Or did you just try some random mass produced non precision ammo and decide that way? I'm sure one could find 77 grain ammo that...

    What barrel you got? Usually it's the barrel or just a bad combination of load components and not an actual chamber/cartridge itself.

    If you pay attention, I asked about the Dallas loads, as in, in general. I wasn’t asking specifically about what the guy in the video used. I know he is friends with the owner of the ammo manufacturer company who did load development for the rifle specifically for the match.

    I do reload my own ammo. But sometimes, with having minimal free time, it's easier to buy loaded ammo. I was under the impression this was more of a boutique type NEW ammo manufacturer, almost like eagle eye, black hills, or unknown.

    Obviously! But in general we know berger ammo is good, FGMM is good, and hornady match is good. I wasn't asking if custom reloads of dallas was going to shoot 1/4" groups in my particular rifle with my particular barrel.

    What is your barrel length? You should have no problem getting 2800s with the 140s and 2600s with the 153s.

    This is simply all my speculation, but I believe the tip could indeed have been made from a different material. As far as the measurement changing, that's just your typical hornady lot to lot variation. It's not like they're known for consistency, quite the opposite actually.

    I think my current barrel is kinda fast. I was able to get 144s up to 2800 with h4350 and it's only a 24" barrel. Now that I've acquired reloder 16, I think it opens up the possibility of using 153s since the powder can kinda make up for some of the loss with my short barrel.

    I know low 2600s are typical with 153s and h4350. But what's everyone getting with r16? Does it help get more speed or not? I also have an 8 twist so maybe I shouldn't even consider the 150 class bullets.
