2 heavy bolt lifts and dirty cases

I shoot under a pink tent hahaha. I thought so too, I figured on low charge cases where the brass does not fully expand to seal the chamber we get some gas leaking back out between chamber wall and case. However, do you believe this to be the case? I don't think it was too low a charge, and it...

2 heavy bolt lifts and dirty cases

Just tested some loads today. Had 2 cases on my last (highest charge) that had heavy bolt lift and they came out dirty. Specs below: 6.5 GRENDEL (howa mini bolt action) Virgin starline RUAG primers 107 TMK benchmark powder Cases were chamfered & deburred prior to running a mandrel through...

    Powder IN-STOCK thread

I know it's versatile and has many uses. But the one cartridge I could use it for, I have plenty or 4350 and r16 lol. Pretty sure it won't work on grendel or 223. I have 308 as well but not sure it's good there either.

    Black wavy marks on brass

I will consider this and shop around for it. I liked the idea of rice because of the minimal dust it creates. How has corn cob been for you in this regard?

    Black wavy marks on brass

The rice is some Asian rice recommended by Greg from primal rights. I got it off Amazon but do not recall exactly which one it is. The rice was indeed somewhat dirty but not nearly as dirty as I usually let it get before replacing. Never had this issue before with dirtier rice. None of these...

    Powder IN-STOCK thread

I have no need for n160 as I have a bunch of 4350 and r16. But when the discounts get good, it still becomes tempting haha. I'm not even sure I could even use it on the cartridges I shoot.

    Black wavy marks on brass

That could've been a good solution too. I swapped out the rice last night and left the brass tumbling. This morning I checked them out and the 4 or 5 pieces that had the black residue now had less. Last night it was very stuck that made removing it with my fingernail tough. This morning, it...

    Black wavy marks on brass

Thank you... I replaced the old rice last night with new one and cleaned the bowl. I'll see here soon if they got cleaned up.

    Black wavy marks on brass

I think it kinda is. Any reason why it would only stick on the grendel cases? That's pretty weird and a first for me.

    Black wavy marks on brass

Hey all, This is a first for me. Anyone have any clue how these marks got here? The marks are on the cases after having spent an afternoon dry tumbling in rice. I suppose it's possible they were there prior to going into the tumbler. However, I cannot recall me making that observation before...

    End of life barrels

It does not necessarily make the groups open up. I've had decent accuracy on a toast barrel but I saw that I was losing speed. You can tweak the load all you want but if the barrel is done, what's the point?

    16-18 inch shorty rifles

It is not entirely handicapped at that length. Well, kinda... If you are shooting PRS or trying to be competitive, it is. If its just for fun, I don't think you'll be handicapped.

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

I've got a stock up for sale that could make an excellent hunter... https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/m70-spr-stock.7262463/

Help reading the tea leaves, er, targets

Gotcha... might not be the answer you want but if a single small dot was giving you anxiety or creating issues for you, perhaps you could try a somewhat larger square or diamond. You should orientate the square to be like a diamond and shoot top/bottom corner.

Help reading the tea leaves, er, targets

What are you using for aiming point? Do you have all 3 circles the entire time you're shooting? I use half inch circles. The idea is aim small, shoot small.

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

That is actually a push feed m70 heavy varmint with the 26" barrel. I do however have like 3 or 4 FN crf rifles. I forget where the count is at haha.
