Wtf is this lone survivor or lone runner stuff about?

Hey! My Dad was cook in the Marine Corps, IIMEF 1950-54 Camp Lejeune, NC. He was in a machine gun platoon. And his photo was used on a recruiting poster when he was promoted to Corporal. Not everyone is a blowhard at the Legion hall........

Is bullet still stable/accurate after it goes subsonic?

The H75HPBT didn't shoot for beans out of my 7-twist 20" service rifle barrels at 600 yards. For whatever reason the S77MK was considerably better at 600.

That exact situation happened to my son. Tore up a knee pretty bad but lived to tell about it.

    Bench Primer

BTW I had to have my RCBS bench primer warranted before I got the PCPS. The RCBS was leaving too many primers proud, not seated flush or below flush.

You have to do that with the PCPS also but it's just a flick of a finger or thumb. Happens almost subconsciously

    Wyoming roadtrip

Some of the worst swarms of mosquitoes and flys I've seen in my life were on some back-country hikes in Yellowstone. Vicious doesn't describe how they attacked us. Back country Canada was about the only comparison as to how bad the skeeters and flys can get. 100% DEET. Consider a headnet. We...

    Bench Primer

The PCPS system is great, especially if you, like me, have arthritic hands. I particularly like the click adjustment for primer depth. I also have the RCBS bench primer but only use it now if I only have a few primers to seat. The PCPS is machined like a Swiss watch btw.

And why would the kid who got clubbed be DQ'd?

    Why not SOTU?

An SOTU address doesn't even need to be a speech. It can be a simple written document.

Hearing protection active muffs in 2025

31Db-32Db, whatever. ..... When I purchased mine, there were two different models, with two different reduction ratings at two distinctly different prices. I purchased the better of the two, with the higher rating, either 31 or 32 take your pick and not those rated at 26Db, which were sold at a...

Hearing protection active muffs in 2025

Sordin Supreme Pro SFA 32db with the gel cups. I wore mine all day at the range and never took them off. Best money ever spent for the shooting sports.

    Getting started on a budget...

If you haven't already discovered, guys here are really good at spending other guys money. A Rockchucker is a good press. You can spend more but not necessarily buy better. Don't bother with a case eject thingy. L-N-L bushings to me are a solution to a nonexistent problem. An annealer may give...

The RV alone was about $150,000 new. I know, I have one by the same manufacturer.

Rifle Scopes Lightest midrange hunting scopes

I have an earlier Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14 that has been on maybe 6 different rifles. It has a simple plex reticle but it's bright, clear and tracks repeatedly. I'd buy another over a Leupold in the same zoom range albeit with a more modern reticle.

Quick question for the "watch guys" on the Hide here...

My Seamaster runs about a minute or so slow per month. A watchmaker friend says that's good to go. He wears a Hamilton btw......

    DO NOT LOSE YOUR CARD!

An ATM ate my debit card, seized it, in Istanbul Turkey in August of this year. Didn't have access to cash for nearly 3 weeks. Talk about a Pia.

DNT is gonna let us do a reticle

I cannot see those floating dots without a struggle. But that's me. I'd like the dots you show at .2, , .4, .6 for wind on the tree as the center dot. Those I can see.

DNT is gonna let us do a reticle

The floating dot needs to be large enough to actually see at all magnifications. That's the biggest issue for me with all tree reticles for the most part and what I least like about my Razor GIII 6-36 is the dot is too small to see well at any magnification.
